Unless you find one that you can stand up in, then you learn to put your pants on laying down. The heat works great in the summer and ac in the winter.

The tall bunk COE only have to break the air one time so they are better than most conv. trucks but your back will pay the hurt tax from getting pounded all day and night?

Where to begin? You talking 2 different universes here. Years ago, cabovers had a specific purpose, with total length laws, a cabover meant a bigger trailer, and most of us just put up with , "this is just the way it is". Once length laws were abolished, in the 80's, there was no need for cabovers. Cabovers had like 3 advantages, and 47 disadvantages, and fell out of favor. I knew some guys loved them, and others would quit their job if they had to drive one. They made some nice ones, don't let these guys fool you, the Pete 372 was a darn nice truck, heck, even the Transtar Eagles were good trucks. They turn great, have lots of room, and you're the 1st one at an accident,,,Most of us old timers say good riddance to the cabover, but you might like them. Careful tilting the cab, and watch that nasty right side blind spot!!

Freightliner still builds and sells the Argosy in Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Kenworth still has a market for COE's in New Zealand, South America and Australia. Their isn't enough demand to justify the cost of building, selling and marketing them in the U.S.

I made some money with a '72 cab-over Freightliner with a small cam 290 Cummins , 13 speed. never sweated a tight spot and I took loads over into NYC, never gave it a second thought. Speedometer never did work, I drove by the tach, never got but one ticket. It was originally owned by Blue & Gray out of Richmond, Va and if you remember them, you are a old, old man like myself.
