We just got rid of ours this year. They were late 90's Freightshakers. Oldest in the fleet I think. They were day cabs too. Mainly used on linehaul as extra trucks. When your assigned truck went down we called it "getting thrown into the penalty box." Don't think they would be fun in the city though. My first truck I got thrown into my first linehaul run 4 years ago. Lol.

We just acquired a cabover straight truck. "Why" is a very good question.
In these days of set back steer axles, cabovers for the sake of manueverability don't make a whole lot of sense anymore. Obviously, they're not aerodynamic either. -
That's for sure some of these snub nose freightliners are just as good as a cab over. Plus you know what they say about a cab over if you get in a wreck your the first one at the scene lol.

I certainly don't want to climb in and out of one of those 20 times a day.
12 ga, Canned Spam, Big Don and 4 others Thank this. -
I just saw a sweet one yesterday - well-maintained with a cool paint job. I never drove one but I moved one for a customer once. It was the weirdest thing. 50 feet was as far as I ever care to drive one.
Dominick253, Cali kid and Mike2633 Thank this. -
My dad owned a late 70's International Transstar tag axle day cab, cab over I remember riding in it as a kid that thing beat the living tar out of you. The Volvo 200s that are in my avatar ride about a million times smoother then that thing.Dominick253 and Cali kid Thank this.

Seen a nice cab over on I-81 one day a little north of the I-40/I-81 split. Black with copper colored tanks and a extended frame with a matching trailer
They ride like #### thoughMike2633, Dominick253 and Cali kid Thank this. -
I've seen far worse accidents in conventional cabs than cabovers(including some where the drivers were ejected from the truck).

KW need to bring g back the k100. Dad had one when I was a kid and man I loved that truck. The short wheelbase made for a hell of a rough ride though
Mike2633, Dominick253 and AModelCat Thank this. -
It'd be interesting to see how good of ride you could get out of a cabover with today's technology.
