Cabover More Dangerous??

Maybe so, but there are plenty more who spent their entire careers in COEs with no mishaps.

My forty year old pick-up has no ABS, no airbags and only lap belts(no shoulder harnesses)
Heck, it doesn't even have disc brakes.
And after being in active use all these years, it has never been involved in a mishap.
It could happen tomorrow, but I say it's more about the situation(and the operator) than it is the vehicle.

 

it's about the driving being safe more then it is what they're driving.

 

I was referring to getting dressed while laying down most, no all of the people I know who have really driven COE did not prefer to do it.

You can't put a price on cool, that being said, a big ol stretched out long nose is just as cool as a cab over.

 

Ehhh, I think I see a streched long nose atleast 5 times a day. Now a nice stretched fat cab pete or KW? Maybe once a month if that.

 

Just do it for a week.In what ever you are driving get dressed while you are in bed instead of being able to stand up to pull your pants on.Then see if you want to get dressed like this all the time.

 

Did it for three months! But I am young so it doesn't bother me.

 

I did it for a few years when I was young and it still bothers me.

 

I liked them in a truck and trailer set-up for gas hauling. You can see everything while you're going into the station and since part of the load is on the truck frame it rides smooth. But I've had then OTR and they would never ride as smooth as a conventional. Plus the no room in the bunk area was a drawback too. The COE went away when the truck length laws were standard. Some states used to be 55 feet so the companies would used the COE to pull longer trailers. IIRC you had 40' and 45' trailers back then so you had to watch the length.
