    embarressing isnt it????
it seems coming out of a cabover you have quite a bit of momentum--sometimes i would be hanging from the hand bars realizing i was in a different truck and the steps were on the other side of the wheel--no where in reach
if i tried that now it would probabely kill me

No S###. Thats what I always hated about COE's.

You got a steering column, a windshield and some aluminum body panels between you and death.

    F### that !!

A quick thought...has anyone ever looked at the statistics of Tractor-trailer accidents between drivers of COEs and driver of conventionals? Just wondering...

Yes, and there is no graceful recovery.
It's not like you can act all cool like Hey, I meant to do that!

Fairly stripped down model with 300HP Cummins, 7 speed Spicer, 3:90 rears. Manual steering, spring ride. Only options were A/C, heated mirrors and dual air ride seats.

I drove an 85 and an 87 Freightliner cabover till 91,, loved em too,,the only downside I see is that I had a 33" sleeper berth,,but the ones I see Schneider running has like a 68" or something sleeper berth.
My turning radius was obviously better,,if I were given the option of driving a cabover versus the conventionals,, I'd jump at the cabover.
