Cabover

What's worse:
The cabover or the flattop.
I hated both of them equally.

 

I like the look of them, but if I couldnt stand up in one...no thanks.

 

Anyone remember this television show from the late 70's?

Yep I remember it as well as in-tandem.

 

How were the later vintage fleet cabovers with the condo sleepers in terms of driver comfort? The kind that Schneider and JB Hunt used to utilize.

 

I always liked watching Will & Sonny, the other guy with the chimp, not so much.....

 

I drove cabovers including the bigger hunt and Werner ones during my early years. They weren't bad as I recall ... but probably only because we didn't know any better/different.

But I do remember transitioning to small sleeper flat top conventionals and thought I had died and went to heaven.

 

Why was the flat top conventional better than the condo cabover?

 

Easier access to both the cab and the sleeper (bed). Plus an improved ride and a better sense of "safety"

 

Some companies won't lease an older truck! <<YOU had better check on this BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING! Unless of course your planning to run under your own Authority. I will not type what I really want to say here, but honestly there is a reason that beautiful cabover is for sale. <<Thank about that one a min!! If it were me I would leave it and go back to work.
