Paccar = DAF, kw, Pete etc
Volvo = Volvo ,mack
Damlier= merc, freightliner etc
They are the same companies, why at least don't ye get our safety devices ? Decent brakes etc, these companies already have the technology, other improvements could be made too?
I've actually been reading on another forum that those mercs were bought from freightliner , Canada and a few guys seen to think freighliner will import one for you, not saying it's true but those guys seem to think it!

Here is a couple of extracts from that forum, probably shouldn't be doing that so sshhhh
you can order these in canada through freightliner, i'm not sure about the states. Mammoet has two of these units here now. I will rty to find my back of cab pic, this is one serious heavy haul rig
these are great ! if i knew how to get pics off my phone on here i could post 3 more catches from here in Edmonton. my local Freightliner dealer here can bring these to Alberta -
Could be, but.......ya can't really go by things ya see in forums.
If you go to Freightliner Canada and it's official on their site........then and only then I'll believe it.
So far, I ain't seen anything official that would indicate that Freightliner is offering the MB Actros on thr Canadian market!
And I think that, that settles it!Scania man Thanks this. -
add Tatra to Paccar, Ranault and Sisu to Volvo, Include Thomas Western Star, Titan, MTU, Sterling..... to Daimler
Hah, Cascadia shares powertrain and steering, EBS, ECAS and many other things with Actros MP4 amd MP2, and Daimler use SAM modules from Mercedes cars on Cascadia)))) LOL) All new DD engines are created by MTU and sold with MB Stern in EU and Detroit logo in the USA. Freightliner transmissions are new Mercedes EPS 3 trannies designed for new Actros.
Good thing, as I can see on new US and EU trucks with disk brakes, new Knorr, Wabco and BPW calipers are really good, light and I sugest problem free.Scania man Thanks this. -
To compare Trucking to a a Race is wrong in every way. You are on a public road not a one way circuit and that with 50-60t (oops forgot US 36t?).
I can drive without TC, anti this and that. But why not make it easier? I got no problem driving a manual but it's a hell lot easier with an auto and more comfy + the volvo auto stick buttons are actually fun to use, it's so perfectly ergonomically placed on the side of the seat.
OT
Video of the beautiful Norwegian winter roads, this is what makes it worth driving a truck for.

That's some awesome driving!

Well, crap! They're all sold and bought everyday and it's really hard to keep evidence of whom is affiliated with whom and all that anymore.
One thing though, Tatra does not belong to DAF/PACCAR! They have a joint venture together producing the Tatra Phoenix equipped with DAF cab and the PACCAR mx engine. But that's the extent of PACCAR influence and the truck is marketed under Tatra badge. -
Not mine, found it on the tube. Just thought it was good recorded and edited
Btw, here is the live scale, the trailer as a bit wrong calibrated and I'm parked on a hill so played with the air suspension to get the truck straight. Guess you guys got this today as well?

I'm permited for 50 ton, and your not the only country that has winter. Were you wearing flip flops while driving that road. -
Not mine, found it on the tube, just thought is was good recorded and edited.
No I prefer barefooted but if I'm on roads where I might have to jump out and put chains I use training shoes.Cat sdp Thanks this.
