Ya man, I've gotcha! But I'd much prefer to have some of this tech improvements in one of those FH16s with the XXL cabs that they sell in Norway. The XXL cab is 25cm longer giving you an even larger bed then the new FH and the extra room, and besides, it looks a milion times better then this new horror!Scania man Thanks this.

I see Volvo is touting it's new IShift tranny--would be very interested in hearing some of the Euro drivers thought and experiences on Auto shifts--in your mountains especially on snow and ice--My one an only Auto experience was a cross usa northern trip in feb--thankfully I was only doing a friend a favor--and will NEVER do it again LOL

he, he heee! yaks! Noh man, I doubt that they will change much of anything other then the hood/bonnet in this things here. They don't like change, on this side of the pond, very much! They will probably kip the main structure of the cab for the next 50+ years here. This is America after all, don't y'all know it! It took 70 yars to start some new design concepts, and still many resist even these few changes.Scania man Thanks this.

I've got the same attitude towards autoshifts! I like the old clutch and manual shift myself. I think that the new breed of truckers ar too darn lazy! They probably would like an auto-booty-wipe at the crapper, cause they're too darn lazy to even wipe their own....!jonboy29 Thanks this.

The current ishift is brilliant, reliable, fast smooth shifts and easy use, there's no control issues on ice or on hills, slow maneuvering is just like an auto car, perfectably controllable ! The euro auto shifts are generally ahead of their US rivals but with competition from ishift now in the US ye won't be long catching up so don't say "never" just yet! The new Volvo will have a double clutch so shifts will be extremely fast

Can you get one , are they available ?
Id trade the independent suspension for one of those.jonboy29 Thanks this. -
i dont like that volvo force it so much , it is good for most applications , but there are some jobs where it cant work , and volvo turned itself just to ishift and stop development of manual transmissions
strongest currently is vt2814 which is released in 2003 and it is actually based on 2514 from fh16 520 and torque is limited to 2500nm except in top 4gear
also they could make manual gearboxes little bit fasterScania man Thanks this. -
I like both manual and auto, my current truck is manual but modern autos are so good they can shift faster than a manual nowadays , on twisting mountain roads they are a godsend, especially in parts of Europe where u will be shifting every few hundred meters to take sharp corners and deal with sharp inclines and declines, after a long day of this you would welcome a good auto, a bad auto.. Well there's nothing worse!
