Like I said, I think that it should be a law of some sorts that would force the minimum bed matress dimmentions in any sleeper truck around the world at a minimum 100cm in width and 215cm in length in tha permanent position, none of that folding and retracteble and whatever stuff. A good night sleep is imperative for safety, more so then the rest of the crap they're pooshing with EOBR's and hours of service.
If you have to sleep on a freaking bench where you can't even turn around....you basically have to lay motionless like a log in one position all night long, like a sardine packed in a can, how rested do you feel even after even 10 hours in that sleeping berth? I couldn't lay there under those conditions for more then 2 hours and I'd have to give up on sleeping, and go watch a movie or do something else with my "required sleep time".

No, I wouldn't expect the "condo" to be standardized all around the world, but, let's be reasonable, you have more room in a burial casket then in some of those Euro truck sleeping berths. LOL

    Talking about truck sleeping berths.

I think that Volvo did an awesome job with that XXL cab by adding just 24-25cm to the total lenghth of the cab. You can notice even in the pictures that there's more room behind the seat backrest.
It gives the driver a little more air to breathe too........in case of having beans for dinner! LOL

The Euro rulers should've standardized the Volvo XXL cab dimensions all across the board!

Absoloutly! The difference 1ft can make, why it can't be standard on tractors is beyond me, they are considered overlenght on Swedish 25m combos, I mean will 1 ft make a difference???

The bunks here are fine for me, I'm 6'1" but I'm reasonably fit so I'm not horizantly challenged! So I'm fine, but a rather large individual may feel like a 'sardine' lol

What can I say.....I'm an AMERICAN! I wouldn't consider myself "horizontally challenged" but I'm a large individual all around. LOL

Most of the guys driving trucks here are big. Some really fat, but meny are just large individuals....6'4" - 6'6" with arms thicker then a small person. Try to fit one of those guys in a euro truck sleeper and I'll guaranty you he'll rip the seats off and push the back wall out trying to turn in bed.

If any of y'all over there se a truck parked at night and shaking like there's a hurricane blowing in that cab, it's probably a "driver experience exchange program" American driver trying to turn in bed! LOL

I don't think that there's a sleeper cab made here in USA that has a bed with less then 3'3" (99cm) in width. The main bed in my Volvo 770 is 3'6" (107cm) in width and the top bunk is 3'3".
Volvo NA offers a truck, the 780 mid roof with a 4'6"(137cm) matress, all though there's no more stowage and fridge cabinets between the seats and the bed.

But ya, the beds in the sleeper cabs here start at around 3'3" in width and only the imagination is the max.
