Hhmm the bike? It was an MV Agusta not a ducati, similar I know , also Italian and also expensive, actually it wasn't too bad, mostly cosmetic damage, gear lever, clutch lever, foot peg, fairings and lights , I lowsided it so I went through the hedge and it slid on it's side for a few hundred meters , it could have been alot worse! This is the way it should look: http://dayerses.com/data_images/posts/mv-agusta-750-f4-s/mv-agusta-750-f4-s-07.jpg

My slip sorry. Atleast I knew there was some connection. The fact is it is still one kick ### of a bike. Atleast it turned out well for you and the bike.

Well... Not that well for me actually, I've been outa work 3 months now, I broke a few bones, nothing too bad( no pins or screws required) I also did a vertebrea in my neck, that's causing me a bit of trouble but I'm on the mend, it WAS a kick*** bike lol, till I got my hands on it! I sold my own bike to pay for the damages but the bike is fine, my friend ( the owner ) actually laughed when it happened! I'm lucky he took it so good.

Found this O'l 78 Transtar II while making a delivery, after a little discussion with the owner it seems....it is gonna end up at my place...I talked to a couple friends that knew the truck and both told me the truck only had around 15,000 miles on a in-frame overhaul, the engine is a 350 cummins, backed up with a 12513 trans, forgot to look and see if it is a RT, or a RTO, owner said it had 40,000lb rears, "need to check" on that closer when I get back in town. Needless to say it will need a little TLC, belts, gaskets/seals, hoses, clean fuel, it has been setting around 8-9 yrs, interior is in really good shape, I was surprised how clean it was.

If sitting that long, the crossover tube just has 4 or 5 bolts (depend on year) mist wd 40 down or atf before trying to turn her over. Other engines are little harder to prelube. Good luck, and have fun!

    OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this.

this would not be concern ,

this kind of suspension would not be used everywhere but mainly only in west europe , they change trucks for new every 3-4year , than send them to here , we keep same trucks for 3-5years more and than scrap them or send them to africa or to arabs before it actually need any serious repair

so it is not our problem

I guess that's why, you over there in Eastern European countries, never use the proper equipment for the job. You actually use whatever you ca get your hands on, whatever comes from the west. Now I understand why you complain that some trucks are too heavy and have too much cab and so on. If you use a sleeper cab long distance truck for local distribution work or as a logging truck, of course you'd have a big problem with excessive tare weight that renders the truck less productive.

I guess that, it's always better to purchase the right kind of equipment for the job at hand. In the end, it proves more profitable and with less headache.

But we all do whatever we can in order to make it under the circumstances we face.

    "It is what it is!"

PS: I'm an Owner/Operator that likes to keep a truck for 10-15 years, at least a couple of milion miles. I don't like changing trucks constantly and make monthly payments to no end. Even if it involves a little more attention to maintenance and some repairs, it's much better when my truck is paid off and I can be more peaky with the loads I haul, and actually take it easy instead of running like a "bad out of hell" all the time in order to make that monthly payment.

In the end, you have to have some sort of a life outside of work, work, work and payment, payments, payments!
