Didn't call 'em coffin-boxes for nothing. Don't forget we had to crawl through a hole to get in there, too.

Yeah, I used to ride Mack R600. Sleeper is very small and what is bad - low roof!

Yes I recall that , also recall that a 40" flat top was at 1 time LUXURY

First AREODYNE I saw I laughed that that was too much :biggrin_2555: thought what will they think of next

Even the opening to get into the 60" flat-top on the '79 W900 I used to drive wasn't exactly huge. I miss that truck. I loved that truck. In fact, I will find one like it and restore it because I like it so much and I am just that brainless.

pssst it isnt 1975 any more--i have spent my time in a tiny box--no more--a star with maybe a 36 bunk--sure it was enough to sleep in--but i dont think i would want to take a 34 in it
its nice when you dont have to sleep with your food and your duffel bag in the bed with you

we fogot the danger of early COE. They became relativelly safe in end of 90-s, but early COE were wery dangerouse for drivers.

i saw one ih coe--had hit the ditch at good speed in the winter--the truck was on its side and the right window caved in from snow in the ditch--and the cab filled up with snow as it was sliding on its side and pushed the driver out the left front window--no injuries except scratches/pride/underwear

that is enough for us it is same size as my bed in my room

but our manufactures try to make bet as much as possible comfortable so there are springs floor and other thinks i dont know how to say it on english but in basic it is same comfort as house bad

90% of european truck trips is in circle of 500km which is 310mille

lot of guys dont sleep in cabs
but in other hand there are some guys who drive extra long routes to Asia some of them go from my contry to Germany to take load and drive it to Kazakhstan/Tajikistan/Kyrgyzstan i think longest route and back is about 10500 milles and some of guys stuck there this winter because of problems with papers and their circle take 110 days usually for that you need 40-50days

they make not too many km/day because of bad roads in asia problems with customs offices borders snow desert without roads hills extreme low temps and also they need to go on ferry which drive 2-3-4 times per week and also it takes 24hours of driving from Baku-Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan....
