I suget bullnose may save driver's feet and legs in case of accident. So IMO this design would be better is light of passive safety comparing with classical COE.
This kind of design is still used by Mercedes, small Vario trucks are of this design.
they got no tilt cab, engine is OM904 (MBE900), 4-cyl, but acess to engine from hood and with latch inside cab, like on mid size Vans.
I remember old Ryder ford trucks of similar design -
this would save 900lives per year of 4000total victims per year in crash where trucks are involved
would be 250kg
i have somewhere pictures of truck which is based on 4series with same extension on front -
Imo, combination of classical COE and about 0.6-1 M of hood would be the future cabover design.
But seems to me future cab will look like a front end of family wan of Caravan ore Windstar ore Vito style. Combination of crash zone, small hood and aerodynamic design. -
do you remember their concept of 2010´s truck from 1999
8axle all single wheels all wheels closed 64t 25m -
yeah, i do
IMO, this is the future highway truck
Urban truck will cabover be anyway
And of cource electrically driven trucks are the future. -
