Jeez you really did get around! I don't know if got down to Kerry but there are spectacular roads for driving down there , barely the width of the truck and nothing between you and a 200ft plunge into the sea only a sign telling you that you might fall so be careful, they don't ever fix them just tell you be careful! Typically Irish haha. That and playing chicken with bus loads if tourists!

I'm involved in heavy haulage myself and jobs are scarce here, these jobs pay well here so people hang onto them but I do know English companies working in Ireland and Europe that are looking for drivers and I could point you in the right direction if you wanted.

 

Yup those roads are plentiful here , sometimes you don't get the wall, roads have improved Alot in most of the country, we only got a motorway network a few years ago. But in parts of the country some roads are still the same as they were built centuries ago. You can see how difficult a conventional truck would be here on deliveries!

What sort of heavy haul do you do? Im guessing that construction equipment (my specialty) is pretty much non existent. But high, wide ,tall, and heavy is all the same.

I'm sending you a pm with the website of a good company in london, money is excellent, owned by irish guys, and the specialise in your speciality! up to 250 tonnes or 550,000lbs, also they have left hand drive Scanias with 'hoods' , so I think the would be glad of a driver that's used to lhd and trucks with a bonnet and knows how to handle big loads !!

 

Oh yeah , mostly quarry machines and construction machines ,we don't have any big stuff left in Ireland but we work all around Europe up to 150 tonnes but I think we are going bigger soon!

does anyone in US use trucks instead of tractors?
it just appear few years ago in europe
