about FH d13 engine... Yep, really, there was Euro-3 Version of D13 available in Europe, really D13 w/o EGR/DPF/SCR, and it is not all, for some countries Euro-2 and Euro-3 Versions of modern engines are available, like for ex-USSR and Mid East, but not for NA and EU.

Look, in Ukraine I can easily get any new truck with Euro-3 engine. Have you ever seen NEW ISL ore NEW D13 w/o EGR? I see every day! All Russian KAMAZ with new Cummins Engines are w/o EGR, they are of Euro-2 ore Euro-3 Emission level!

So all depends on local laws.

    Scania man Thanks this.

i did not except that you as customers are so unprotected

here if you have some problems with truck dealer will do anything just to keep you as customer

as you mentioned here most trucks on market have all in house components this reduce problems but even components which are not in-house they can be repaired at shop....

however things like fuel tanks you mentioned above are bought from 3rd companies , most of trucks manufactures use fuel tanks produced by salzburger aluminium , they dont longer build them for scania

I have to say we are treated very well by the dealerships here, my local Scania guy Garuntees me a replacement truck if mine is off the road more than 24hrs, even if they don't have a part Scania will fly it from Sweden, even when a truck was out of warranty they'd put the part in the warranty of one of the newer trucks , they'll replace a clutch in 3 hours, thing is it has to be like that here, DAF wouldn't help out small fleet owners like myself now except for a few big hauliers that the literally bribe to take their trucks theyve only sold a handful here in the last 2 years, outside of Ireland I know it's different but here their name is destroyed, I haven't seen a new DAF registered here in 2-3 years. Volvo too have been very good to me, I couldn't fault them!

When you have a truck here that has components from a different manufacturer the dealer still takes care of it, no questions asked

Here the only time you get treated really good is when you're talking with the sales guy at the dealer. In the rest, after you signed on the dotted line, well, it's another story all together. Sales departments and shop at the dealer are two different areas, as far as east is from the west. The sales kisses your a ss and the shop in screwing.......

Really easy to figure it out. One word "PACCAR" of Washington state US of A! They will put DAF into the ground with the business practices American stile! And that's a fact you can take to the bank!

That big cab must be all steel? Fabulous looking truck! The 6*4 Scania I drive has a double skin chassis and weighs 12,200 kgs solo (about 27,000lbs????) it doesn't have the long sleeper just an ordinary topline!

Sure, as a costumer/consumer you're protected: just "drop your pants, bend over" and leave your wallet in the way out the door, and better be happy and like it too! ......."big iron driver, you're a big boy, you can take it!"

Yea, it's got the best cab, good sealing doors and allot quieter than anything else on this market. All steel lower cab and fiberglass top. Best riding truck in America, but still like a farm tractor compared with the Euro trucks. There's no 4 poit cab suspension offered on the American truck market, and the front axle air ride offered here it's a complete joke. It makes the steering so uncontroleble that you have to fight it constantly just to kip the truck between the lanes.
