if you crash it since there is only small numbers of them here you wont be able to find used cab or bodyparts parts , also if you have some mechanical problems most parts are different than on actros , after that you cant find driver who will drive it , for many drivers and operators it would be embarrassing to drive axor or have it
actros have good resale value and it is not that expensive
for 75000€ you can get
1844LS
megaspace cab
all spoilers
powershift ,
retarder,
air condition while parked
all white color
fuel tanks 650+550
air horns
refrigerator
webasto
two bunks
grammer seat
i would like to put picture but this forum engine is worlds worst so i cant
.....
all round driver would be satisfied as well as owner so this truck would earn more money than axor
Cabovers

Yeah I agree with u, they would be too expensive for the US market, they would be a worthwhile investment for an o/o who wants to keep a truck for 10-15 years like u said but def not a fleet truck for over there! Also could be a worthwhile investment if fuel prices get as high as ours! I can't see US operators paying out 30% more for a coe! They'll be even more expensive as a tcab exc longline.
With o/o they would have to build a reputation over there so that could take a long time! Although alot of them that were sold in the US are still running as far as I know making the newest ones nearly 20 years old!InTranzit Thanks this. -

Actros - list of electronic units is over 3 pages, Axor - the best for market version
1. INS - dashboard
2. BS/ABS - brake system
3. GS - tranny control (but I'd purchase manual)
4. FR - VECU
5. MR - engine control
6. HZR - climat unit
7. ZHE - auxially heater
8. NR - level control
That is all. Actros list is too long. too many wires, connectors, sensors.... -
I actually liked the bed turned lengthways , it gave alot of room inside to move about, even saw an english guy with a rowing machine inside to stay fit, I was looking online cos before a saw an r series Longline with 2 bunks both on the same sidewall one above the other, Also another series with a 4 series bunk above the windshield, Can't find them now though! They are a seriously big cab I'm sure if they enter the US Market they will be trimmer to suit!InTranzit Thanks this. -
Volvos are a great truck but can't compare to Scania when running heavy! I've owned Both and can compare them, running with dry freight ( not exceeding 35-36 tonnes )the Volvo is cheap to run but heavier than that they die on their face! The 16 litre isn't liked here cos too hard on fuel, Volvo is cheaper to run as long as it's not older than 4-5 years but Scania lasts alot longer, I have said this before but there's a few scanias and a Volvo that I owned still operating near me, currently the Volvo has 1.3 on the clock and in need of a rebuild, the 3 scanias 1 of which has over 2m on the clock and the others close behind are still pulling like trains despite 1 of them not having a very loving owner! Also especially here the resale value of a 7 year old v8 Scania is about 3 times that of a volvo.

They are too expensive for the EU market also.

True,if you can find one off those idiots that will only drive "Scania"(we call them the V8 crowd)
