You're getting a taste of the "warranty" American stile. What do you expect from PACCAR? Miracles? American stile warranty only covers you till you sign on the dotted line and drive that bandnew truck off theyr lot for the first time. After that, every time you go back there to fix something they're just draining your pockets giving you all sorts of excuses and blah blah blah why it's not theyr fault and thus the warranty don't cover that. Apparently theyr warranty covers only things that never brake...."IF it brakes, it's not warranty covered......kinda thing.

    Scania man Thanks this.

that thing about warranty in american stily is very interesting i always thought that this is land of dreams where small man is protected and so on

on the end looks like here on balkan we have more rights

they would cancel warranty only if you dont use it properly , if non authorised mechanics had its fingers in that part which fail or if you use aftermarket parts in vital components ( you can use body parts but not things like clutch...)

i know some cases when manufactures exchange fail engines for new without any cost and covered replacement truck for free

That's it, first taste I got when one was about 3 months old, the front brakes locked on outside reading near London England, rang DAF aid Ireland and was told and I quote " you need to get it towed yourself" then mentioned they could do it but I'll have to pay them, couldn't believe what I was hearing, if that guy was beside me I'd have ripped his throat out! When I bought that truck the dealer gave me an extra years warranty in writing, I was delighted with this until when I started to have problems I reminded him of the warranty and the extra year he gave me when I was promptly told " it's not worth the paper it's written on" thanks to our brilliantly fast judicial system here it's still going through the courts!

That's true, Scania will put parts for older trucks on new trucks warranty, also if your truck is off the road for 24hours for whatever reason They give u a replacement, free of charge, wonder if DAF/PACCAR do that?

They're all like that over here. Sadly Volvo NA does tha same thing.
Now y'all know how things are with the trucks on the west side of the Atlantic.

Yea...yea! Over here even if your truck is in the shop for 2 months fighting and arguing with them about warranty, they couldn't care less if you go bust and loose everything.

Sad, but it is the way it is.

Yup, I only have one word for DAF/paccar 'scum'

There's been a few numpties on here from DAF , I guess damage limitation guys, one northern Irish guy who told us we were wrong but then proceeded to tell me England was the 'mainland' red flag to a bull!! One has to wonder where they get these idiots from? Are this company that out of touch?

Kidding mee? Thought double glazing was like standard on everything else than local distribution trucks (actually never think I seen a Scania without it). Another thing that's sadly not std but wish it would be is heated front glass. Would be much easier than trying to keep the the window cold in the winter.

Even bigger models form each car makes can have double glass windows (like the ones used in houses, only those can be triple or four)

Some times I also wish the makes over here would work together.
Then my own dream truck would be possible to order

6x2 (okay 6x4 would be nice but 6x2 is much easier to drive empty in the winter)
Scania retarder + i-shift!!!! with the Scania weight removal button (you can chose how much you want on the drive up to 19 metric ton + the scale works all the time) for tag axle
