Intransit, I looked up KW C500. Kw has a bouchure and shows a cabover as an option. Its the old K100 I believe.
On another site they have pictures from the Alberta oil feilds and I have seen the Euro cabover as a C 500. I don't know if it was imported or is a new cab here for the cabover option.

page 4 and 12 show the cabover.
As you say, its a specalized truck, and not a hyway truck. So, we are back to square one with Euro cabovers.
It would be nice to see a market one day similar to Australia or South Africa with mixed brands from all over the world, minus the Japanese trucks...lol.

    InTranzit Thanks this.

No, thre's no KW of any kind available with the DAF cab for US and Canada use. That one on page 4 has the old K100 cab.
Those KW's built using the flat top Euro DAF cab and 24v electrical system built only for off road oilfield work and only for foreign markets.

Yea, I wouldn't be impressed with the Asian trucks, but really, I think that all this products from the EU and even from Japan should be available for the people with such preference. If there'd be a real free market like it's pretended to be, then why not???

That KW COE with the DAF cab, the oilfield monster, has nothing KW proprietary production, nothing other then the logo on the grille. That truck is a colection of parts from different suppliers put together by KW. Well, maybe te frame rails, but then again, they might have some other company suplying even that. They're good at assembling supplied parts only, and sometimes I wonder about that too.

Who said that EU 6x4 or 6x2 tractors couldnt be made with a longer min 20' spacing between axle 1 and 3 to accommodate US bridge laws? That actually would provide allot of room for a huge sleeper and then some.

    : MB Actros in the US« Reply #13 on: June 12, 2011, 04:32:22 PM »

"you can order these in canada through freightliner, i'm not sure about the states. Mammoet has two of these units here now."

Above is a snap shot from the other site I read. It has pictures of Mammoet 8X8 trucks, a thing of beauty.
I dont want to move somebodys picture without permission
They say a sewar company in bc has a few MB actros too. So maybe this is a trickle of things to come?

That KW is a K500 not a c500. Youre right, 24v, right off the continent....

The Scania longline would comply with all bridge laws in the US just the way it is built in the EU. No modifications required at all.

GeWeez that's a thing of beauty. Heavy haul 8x8 truck that actually looks like a truck is suppose to look. I'm seek of seeing that old ugly stuff they use to have. It's about time to have some good looking and real trucks comming to this part of the world.

This bridge laws in the US are so stupid and backwards, it's unbelievable! Instead of upgrading or building a better infrastructure to be able to handle transportation needs in a logical way, they kip 50 year old complicated rules on the books because they look at it as a cash cow. For God sakes, it's 2012 and we're still in the 1800's mentality here. What happens if you have a 2 mile bridge? According tho the fools writing this rules you must have a 2.5 mile long truck, kinda thing. Not far fetched when considering that heavy haul has to use trailers that are well over 100' long some exceeding 200' because of this outdated bridge laws. It's ridiculous to pull a trailer that's almost as heavy as the load it's suppose to transport. That's allot of deadweight steel. How meny feet of extra trailer ya gotta have just to carry the weight of the extra trailer??? Ge, that sounds so stupid just thinking about it!

    Only in America!
