Well got the results and I am good to go. I handled everything with doc. I miss driving and my Prime buddies, time will tell what I do once I can go back to work. Weather is changing so all my Prime buddies PLEASE BE EXTRA SAFE out there 4-wheeler's are idiots when weather starts. BE SAFE out there. See ya soon. I could hit the road now but need to deal with grandma since I am home she had another stroke on Sunday night/Monday morning so I am here to help her.

So how long did you work for Prime? Were you a company driver or a L/O? Were you on the road 6 weeks and home only 3days at a time?

Sorry I didnt read through this entire thread because some of these questions might already be answered!

I see you were driving with a trainer for awhile, did you end up going solo or driving team? What were you averaging for miles and earnings?

I have read some real horror stories about this company is why I ask but they were mostly from old lease owners who went broke from all the hidden fees they never prepared for before leasing. And of course there are those constantly negative people that comment on companies they never worked for or are always so negative the company canned them.

I am seriously considering going to work for them!

On a side note their company website says if you do get a lease agreement and need out of it you just let them know and you can drop the truck off to them with no money to owe and no adverse effect on your credit report. Can this really be so? I would never get a lease but I found it interesting!

Do yourself a favor, read the thread, you'll learn a thing or two. Also, read SEEBS and ORDs threads. Yes, most of the negative threads are by lease operators who jumped into the lease seeing dollar signs and not realizing what THEY were responsible for would come out of their settlements. You know, fuel, repairs, tires, that kind of stuff. There are a select few who just want to poke and poke and act like um...jerks. Yeah that's the word that won't get me in trouble.

As for the lease, there is a 30 day written notice clause. You inform them 30 days ahead IN WRITING, you can walk away...subject to the rest of the terms of the lease, aka they will go over the truck, and you will owe for what they find. At least that's how I read it. Also, you will forfeit your "lease incentive". Like IP said somewhere, you can get a copy of the lease contract and have your lawyer and your accountant go over it. (AND your significant Kat....oops, wrong conversation).

The best thing to do is figure out what your options are. Make a list. YES. WRITE IT DOWN. Don't just ponder things in your head. They are still pretty abstract that way. Black and white, red and yellow, blue and pink for all I care. Use ink and paper. There are more options that just what Prime offers. Some of those are more viable for a new driver than others.

Also, there are plenty of drivers at Prime that have BEEN AT PRIME for quite a while. Take a little time. Spend 3 hours going through each and every page on Primeinc.com, I did. This is where I tell everyone that I'm the research ...Witch in this house. I do the research (my googlefu is MUCH better than JCW's) and basically report on my findings. Call me a research assistant, call me a ....Witch. Call me the "B" word, whatever. You could even call me a controlling "B" but you might have to fight the Wolven One on that. On the stuff that I decided that JCW would have read on his own and make his own decision, that's exactly what I told him.

Maybe that's part of the secret of our marriage. The division of labor falls along the lines of each of our strengths, but when it's important (and we determined the ranks before we got married) we discuss stuff. I don't browbeat my husband. (That should make him giggle when he gets to read this). But I do make informed choices, and I give him the information UNEDITED for him to make his choices. For him, I do the research for "marital privilege." Anyone else gets to pay me real money.

I rewrote my reply, you should probably re-read it. And CAGE is only on sporadically at the moment. He's at home, dealing with issues there. And yeah, I come off basically as a "B". Always will, but my heart is in the right place.

Right now, Ironpony, OpenRoadDreamer, Sazook, Seebs, U2Exit (he's back from vacation now, *mumbletymumble lucky bugger getting to go to Europe and wondering how I could go to Europe and NOT tell the cousin I'm going*) are all great sources of good information. Sure they LIKE the company, but they don't pull punches either.
