As I mentioned in another post/thread, as an Express driver out of Phx, a couple of times another driver's truck was assigned me for a couple of days until another open truck became available. I hated taking a truck w/another's driver's possessions in it and felt responsible if anything happened while in my possession! The 1st time this happened, I left a note for the driver saying that wasnt my 'idea' and that I took good care of it, washing it also when I was done!

Since you drive out of the Phx term, BEWARE, having your goodies stolen out of your truck while in the shop was COMMON when I was there...and when the driver complained or tried to get reimbursed for their loss, mgmt said, "It was driver's fault for leaving their stuff in it!'!

Remember..at Knight, the 'driver' is always wrong!..Unless, of course, there is a lawsuit against Knight outside the co. for one of their driver's mistakes...then they're financilly obligated to go to bat 'for him' (ergo, 'for Knight')

I am not holding my breath I just hope the company comes through for me and does reimburse me for most if not all of my loss. They have been pretty good to me so far. My wife wants me to leave and find a new place so who knows. I have my kidney issues on my mind this week. Who are you driving for now? PM if you want. I am going to give the company a chance to make it right.

Best wishes for your health outcome.

Most drivers out their are honest with respect to other driver's stuff...but just takes 1 or 2 bad eggs to ruin the trucker's code..being an Express driver, I cleaned it out of my stuff and usually dropped the truck I was using off at the shop when I was done, since many Express newbies wouldnt fill out the paperwork when coming back and left the truck with problems for the next driver...one of the bad things about driving Express (along with dirty trucks, smelly trucks, etc.)

Thanks OverDrive, I hope things go smooth this friday with my procedure. I agree most drivers are honest, the guy who used my truck might be 100% innocent I want to know why my truck that was red tagged for leaking airlines was taken from the line at the shop for a 400 mile run then parked away from shop and left unlocked. I know keys are shared and such but a locked truck is better then a unlocked truck with personal stuff inside it. Now I am a day behind for my turns truck is in the shop who knows when it will be done today. I hope my phone rings soon with Mike or Clint on the other end with a resolution.

CAGE, you really need to consult a lawyer about the cpap problem. It is against ADA for Knight not to make a reasonable accommodation for it. Not only that, it's just bad business too. If you get in an accident(even one that isn't your fault) any attorney worth his salt will first find out that you use a cpap and then subpoena your SD card. Knight won't be able to pressure wash that evidence away.

I found a local place the Arizona Center for Disability Law. and got some really good information. Now to get name and email for someone in HR or the address to send a letter. I did not know all the rights I had so now I can do things the right and legal way and have less frustration

Well it has been 2 days and no response yet on my stolen equipment just that nobody in the office has it. I am home been in MAJOR pain from the kidney stones so decided to just sit tight at the house. I have spoken to multiple drivers who have check up on me 3 of the 6 drivers I swapped numbers with are in the process of leaving Knight. One from my orientation was let go Monday he is from Phoenix and was in the Vegas yard and was told to empty out the truck. The other 2 are in process of applying with other companies 1 is looking to stay in Ports looking at another company here in Phx area the other looking at another company as a L/O running coast to coast. All 3 of these guys have had issues with their pay and all have over 5 years driving experience and say their experience with Knight has been their worst ever. I am bummed to see them go yet on the other hand count my blessings that my pay has been resolved and fix with no issues since my 2nd week. Now just waiting to hear from Safety or a Management level person on resolution of my missing stuff. I am looking forward to this procedure friday and hope to be in my truck again early next week with everything replaced.

    Heres hoping.

With that quick of a turn around after surgery it must be being done 'orthoscopically?

Is there anything they can do at that time to help you 'long term' with your propensity to get stones?

Btw, as has been said on this forum many times; Knight 'prefers' hiring newbies or inexperienced drivers over experienced drivers as newbies have a 'blind loyalty' as in naive sincerity; whereas, experienced drivers (5+ yrs) recognize BS and wont take it for very long and will move on...

Also, I wouldnt get heartburn over losing your stuff...it's just another one of life's expensive learning lessons...the best thing to do for one's health (mental & physical) & general attitude is just to 'move on!'

Don't be surprised if they won't remburse you for any of your belongings.

Just an update I never returned to Knight after my items were stolen. I never heard a thing back and have heard that this has happened 2 more times in the Phoenix terminal one guy 2 month or so ago lost and axle or something and while in the shop his equipment was stolen out of his truck while he was up at the hotel. I have not heard of his results, I just could not return to a company that did not seem to care about me losing in total about 800 bucks in electronics and tools. I am off the road again working for a delivery company as an operations assistant helping drivers with DOT, Safety and logs so life is okay. Be safe everyone.
