Maybe he was under a HEAVY work load. It is a job I would not envy anyone doing at times with a fair sized fleet.

Oh I agree. That's one position that all eye's are on. I always said that poo poo runs down hill and lands in safety.

FLATBED and The Challenger Thank this.

Got my 3 drops off. Not all that easy but I'm empty. My first drop was right down Milliken ave from the TA. I was done with my reset last night at 11pm. I woke up early this morning, showered and fueled then drove the 2.5 miles to my first drop at Shamrock Foods for 5am. They took their 12 pallets of product off and turned their 12 pallets into 43. $200 later for the lumper I was done. It took them a half an hour to off load their product and separate all the items. This place just opened last week and is huge, the problem was the supervisor in charge of receiving was being trained on the handheld computer and must have flunked that class. 3 hours later I finally got my bills and left at 8:30 to drive to my next stop in Hawthorne. For the first time in 30 years I've been coming out here I hit absolutely no traffic. The only time I hit my brakes was when I was getting off the exit off the 105 freeway. I guess the economy has taken it's toll on this state, no one must have a job. I got to my second drop and was done there in half an hour. They took their 12 pallets, counted the pieces, signed my bills and I was done. The last drop was in Montebello at a trucking company that will be delivering these last 16 pallets to Costco for us. We couldn't get an appointment until next week so we are trans-shipping the stop. I got my reload info. I have one pick up tomorrow in Salinas for a load of strawberries delivering in Pottsville Thursday morning. The problem with this is it doesn't load until 9pm tomorrow night so my day tomorrow is shot. Oh well, the big picture shows 6200 miles in less than 2 weeks and 3 extra stops, plus the 650 mile trip I held over is pretty good scratch for my effort.

It's about 30 percent drop and hook and the rest live load and unload. They pay all lumpers. We go to the same customers so you will learn real quick which loads are drop and hook or live load and unload. In 2+ years I've been here I have hand unloaded zero loads and driver assisted 2.

Good job! How long were you held up at Carrier? I load tonight at Driscolls in Aromas. I'll finish my break there and be rolling about 7am in the morning. You should be home cutting your grass as I'm delivering in Pottsville.

Chris, do me a favor. When you get in see if my truck is ready, #xx311 and exactly what in the hell was done to it. Thanks.
