    Johnboy,
Glad your feeling better and back on the road. I am home for the weekend. I just read your last post and was wondering where in NY you are from. I was a Brooklyn Boy. But its been a long time.
Safe mile to you, and feel good.

    Larry

Born in the Bronx and moved to FL 30 years ago. Grew up as a boy spotting trailers for my families produce company in Hunts Point.

TD, they do not take newbies. You need at least 2 years of recent experience.

Getting ready to leave. As soon as I pack my fridge I'm otta here. It's been 10 days at home and I'm finally healthy again. I'll update during the week. I'm quite sure I'll be heading west after getting empty on Thursday. Be safe all. God Bless!

Thanks for the replys JohnBoy, I have some more questions but I have to talk to Mort tomorrow so hopefully I remember them. One question I do have is what does the road test consist of? Been a while since I have taken one and I know each company is a little different. I'm supposed to go up on Friday. Thanks...Al

The road test was given to me in Florida with one of our drivers that was empty. It's very easy. If I was giving the test I would be able to tell in a quarter of a mile if you know what you're doing. I will be in Pittston Friday also. I deliver in Queens 6am Friday then will head back to Pittston so I should be there around 11am.

Thank you again. I will be up there at 10:30 for the road test and to meet with Mort. I talked with him today and it looks like it will be a mid-june start for me. I have a few committments in May and a vacation in early June and I also want to give my current employer proper notice. I want to start things fresh with Calex so we're going to do it around the 15th or so. I will be there tomorrow to take the road test and then when it gets closer to the start date Mort will bring me in for the Drug Test and Physical. I haven't run the road in a long time, I'm looking forward to it.

Well I took the road test and all went well, including the booby traps planted for me. First was the landscaping truck blocking the exit from the yard had to squeeze through. Then while I was making a right turn onto a narrow street where I had the green arrow this older gentleman coming down the road I was turning onto decides to not stop and runs his red light right past me. Then finally was the lawnmower grass catch bag in the middle of the lane approaching an exit ramp off 81. You said it was going to be easy JohnBoy...lol. Anyway all was well, passed the road test and I'm pretty much ready to go, just have to tie up some loose ends here, looks like mid-june. Oh yeah, took the test in one of the brand new Volvos, wow what a nice truck is all I could say. I was so happy to have passed that I forgot to ask Mort some questions I had for him, guess I'll send him an email. I do have a good feeling about things though, unlike with some other outfits I've looked at this appears to be a great opportunity, I hope it is.
