I just put on shorts for the first time in 7 months and it's alarming what this PA winter has done to me. I look like Casper the friendly ghost, I wonder if I will be labeled a "yank" when I move back to Florida on account of my milky white skin?

Well TT your not missing much made it home to Florida at 6 yesterday evening . Woke to rain this AM and it has rained all day.Have to leave for A 5:00 am in Orl. Somuc h for getting my outside chores done. You got lucky with the weather in Pa this year. Take care

Yeah, not much snow but I can honestly say the cold days mixed with rain were much worse than cold days and snow. Snow doesn't soak you to the bone like rain does.

On my way back to the house. My load is waiting for me in McElhattan going to Orlando for Thursday. I'll be home tomorrow night then reload Friday.

Greetings to you all. I am glad to see that at least some of you are running well. Hope everyone stays safe. Later...
JohnBoy Thanks this. -
Sitting in Kenly NC. I am 595 miles to my delivery in Orlando and need to be there 5am Thursday then home until Monday. I decided to deliver then go home for the weekend. Doing it this way has given me plenty of time to do this load.
I have to say that if and when I leave Calex it will be because of the circus we call our shop. Mind you, I'm not planning on leaving anytime soon, but our shop really tries ones patience. Case in point, yesterday. I was at the terminal at 7am, wrote my truck up for the APU not running, and waited all day until 3pm for the shop to pull my truck in for what turned out to be a 20 minute repair. The whole day was spent walking around, begging to get my truck in and tell truck driver stories with a bunch of friends. Anyway, by the time I left and got to my pick up I had enough strength left to make it 12 miles to Lamar and called it a night at 7pm. This was the same repair that I needed fixed 10 days ago and was told they had no time to look at it and to idle the truck until I got back, which I did, for 7 nights, 10 hours per night at a gallon an hour for a total of 70 gallons at an average of $4 per gallon for a total of $280. All for a 20 minute repair for new cable ends that corroded off. Ever hear the saying, "tripping over a quarter to pick up a nickel".
I still love working here. As far as I'm concerned this is one of the best places that I have ever worked at. I'm just a little frustrated, that's why the rant. I'm done. Be safe all, God Bless. -

I'm home. Got here at 8:30am. I must say, even though this job can be a PIA at times, I must say we have good customers on both ends. I never really talk about the good, just the bad. Hauling the same freight 90% of the time makes one spoiled. I slept at one of our other customers 3 miles from my delivery, got up at 4am, got to my delivery at 4:30, bumped the dock at 4:45, was empty at 6am and home at 8:30.
Now time to enjoy a long weekend. Taking the wife out on the bike tomorrow and riding down to Key West to see some friends. On the way back Sunday we are going to a Miami Heat game. I'm very blessed with a wonderful wife who enjoys the same things as I, and makes sure I want for nothing. It's not easy taking care of the house, the 2 Labs, and all the while taking care of her business. She made sure all her work was taken care of this weekend so we can get some R&R in. Bike week is 200 miles north of me and I want no part of it. We'll spend 2 nights in the Key's instead.Hitman and Voyager1968 Thank this.
