I searched the forum and did not find any discussion on this new law.
BE ADVISED, beginning 1 January 2015, CALIFORNIA's new "Cap and Trade" law goes into effect.
It is expected that fuel taxes at the pump will increase the cost of each gallon we purchase, between 9 and 76 cents.
The plan was, is, CALIFORNIA will get a head start on environmental clean up and this is another step to stop GLOBAL WARMING. That is what the plan was. I now have discovered, much of these new taxes will be diverted to Jerry MOON-BEAM Brown's dream, the HIGH SPEED RAIL to no-where.
Owner/Operators take care and plan your fueling in other places should you decide to run in this state.

I always fill up on the AZ side. $2.42 gallon for diesel at the QT in Phx & Buckeye.

The problem is that whether you buy fuel in California or not, you will still be stuck paying the fuel tax on every mile you run in that state through IFTA. The best plan is to no go there in the first place.
Dr_Fandango44, tsavory, bigdogpile and 2 others Thank this. -
agreed freddy, please all you out of state drivers need to boycott this state for a week or two and get them CLOWNS in sacramento back in tune..thank you in advance for your participation..
Freddy57, ShortBusKid and Boardhauler Thank this. -
A high speed rail in any country is about global warming.. in there eyes it cuts back on pollution and congestion .. how the funds are obtained is the question.. oil tycoons ought to pitch in
-
I'll be looking at California's fuel prices next month and determine what my bottom rate to go to that state will be...somebody else can haul the cheap freight in and out...I'm in this to make money.
-
I'm in, I'm boycotting California until March or April! Until then my truck isn't going past Yuma and Nogales!bigdogpile Thanks this.

Shouldn't high speed rail be self supporting? If it's so great and all people should be clamoring to ride and willing to pay. California should use the fuel taxes to fix their crappy roads.
I am in favor of Global Warming also, I HATE the cold! -
Self Supporting .. certainly . justt like airlines unless it supports a state and tourists and and and.. much like public transit.. too cold ? Move to California, you'll feel the impact of global warming
-
Self supporting like Amtrack ? Like Union Pacific? Like farm price supports? Like milk supports? "self supporting" or like Government Motors.......
