ok, I was home long enough to sleep the other day and got the email where we have to designate if we are operating in California.

First off, the message leading up to the email Said we had to complete it by April 10. Now, while out on the road, I get a message saying it must be submitted no later that Friday afternoon. Sorry, no printer in the truck, so this ain't happening.

Second, what is the justification for having to complete this paperwork anyhow?

It's CARB rules. The only thing I have is the e-mail stating April 10.

It's something SNI did automatically in the past I gather because I've never had to do it before. I'd bet just another way to push the cost off onto the IC.

Seems like 35% is going to only gain us access to the load board before long.

Probably just my former DBL, now ICA wanting to look good and get all of us to have ours done first. Makes no sense how CARB can force paperwork from me, if I don't operate there. What are they going to do? Not allow me to operate there if I don't fill out the paperwork? LOL

exactly. you have certify that your truck is compliant to run in CA. if you take loads there or certify that you will not run in CA. and it's a BIG fine if caught there without the paperwork submitted to CARB. CA is just loosing their minds!!! must be all that legal weed.

I just signed mine last night and trams flo'd it in. I won't be going to Cali going forward.

They said this is a CARB requirement, but I am not buying that. This was so Schneider could get a list of non compliant trucks and block our view from the California loads.

If you don't want to go to California then why would you care if You can't see California loads?
