Go ahead and chance it, multiple times a day with all the crazy drivers out there and conditions that change by the minute.
Maybe that crazy driver is the one that simply has to be the brave one and 'keep on truckin''.
Maybe it is rocket science, because rocket science includes some amount of so-called common sense.bryan21384 and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
14 year Swifty here. And I have not chained up since I was in training.
They love me for it, because of so many that try to impress with their 'skills' and wreck out and cost them a lot of money.
When in doubt, shut it down. No one at Swift will shame you for it... ever.Albertaflatbed, lual, Bean Jr. and 5 others Thank this. -

Didn’t understand what was going on until a couple years ago when I shut down just west Laramie on 80 due to a closure. Woke up in total distress and almost called for an ambulance. Getting shut down around Vail for a closure would probably do me in.
Anyway, you got to base your decision on the weather this time of year. If going 200 miles extra gets you there on time then that’s what I’d do.
Even 15 to 80 is an option and if I remember correctly it’ll add about 60? Miles.
