    The last CARB exhaust crew that I saw was on Hwy 65 just past the sawmill in Lincoln. That was three years ago.
    They're still doing what they do but there don't seem to be very many of them and they don't like to work in bad weather.

    Today (Tuesday) seen for the first time at a chicken coop in a long long while, the Sniffer Patrol out on I-5 southbound in San Onofre.

    Doesn't California give you a 1,000 mile yearly exemption or something? I thought I read that somewhere. That's plenty enough to get to Barstow and back via I-15 or 40.

    Actually, the 1,000 mile limit only applies to trucks operated within California. There used to be a three-day pass you could get but that was discontinued.
