Yep first idea was the best switch your phone off while your sleeping or set it on flight mode, when I was doing shift work once I went to bed the phone was put on flight mode, everyone knew this and had to call me before I went to sleep or after I woke up again.

 

Been doing this since 1994. I've just always found out how scheduling and hometime was gonna work. Can't say it's always been perfect but I've always managed to work with the majority of any expected schedules. And for the most part all of the places that i have worked for have managed to respect my home time needs.

 

Keep your phone on silent and put a couple numbers like a wife or something to be allowed to ring through while on silent so your don’t miss family stuff if you’re worried.
