Like I said, if there is one company in this world that makes my blood pressure rise it's TQL.

They have to be the worst company out there. Hard to believe there even in business. With almost 99% certainty you can guarantee the the pickup and delivery city are wrong, the weight is wrong and the rate is a complete joke. Then when you laugh at the rate they just gave the person on the the other end who barely speaks English and just graduated high school can't figure out why your laughing....

I can't stand TQL and wish they would disappear.

Funny side-note: The carrier equivalent of TQL for brokers is pretty much any carrier with a Chicago area code. Those guys barely speak english, lie about everything all the time, even if there is no reason to lie, will quote outrageous prices if they think they are in a tight market, and REFUSE to answer the phone as soon as something goes wrong.

We've got guys that sit around with a list of Chicago area codes and will not book with anyone that calls in on one.

At first I thought there was no way that every carrier in the city were shady lying ########, but sure enough, they are.

I'd love to hear some carrier thoughts on their Chicago peers.

Thought it was relevant seeing how many carrier have a blanket rule to NEVER use TQL and brokers have a blanket rule to NEVER use Chicago.

Just one of the less-charming quirks of this industry.

I don't think its a good idea for him to open that thread, unless he does it in the unmoderated section of the site.

    gentlemanfarmer,

Why do you deal with them, sound like you keep getting burned and can't learn the stove is hot.
They are big but only handle a small % of the freight available.
I know sometime back that LS banned their agents from booking tql loads. If more would dump them we all would be better for it

I'm a Chicago carrier. There are a lot of good Chicago carriers, but the problem is finding them because it seems everyone that owns a truck is a carrier here. Too many 5-6 truck guys that try to rip off drivers, avoid taxes, and operate with beat up volvos and freightliners.I've noticed within last year few companies have moved either south IL or wisconsin area. They are good companies. These are your 40-50 trucks type of carriers who will never post an ad looking for drivers. Mostly word of mouth with good guys. The other 5-6 truck guys, typically hire 3-4 owner operators to steal money from by taking off the top prior to percentage, and cut miles from drivers, 1099, and try to make every load over night delivery. They will lie to brokers that the truck is empty, accident, road closure just so that the broker doesn't find another carrier. They will lie about a break down when running late cause their "team" is missing a driver lol. Once the DOT finally hits them, it's ok cause they are under a new name/mc already. They just keep doing that. Nothing is worse than TQL.
