From what I understand is since his permit told him where he needed to turn and he missed it, it voided the permit. Which in turn put him over weight. So they weight the truck and gave him the ticket. He said he was just going to turn around but tried to do the right thing and get escorted back but instead that happened. He said he was screwed any way because a dot officer was sitting on the on ramp back to the highway.

Today near home I saw a truck turn left down a no truck street, it's an old town and tight back there. So I circled around the block in my pickup and he was stopped.
I talked to him, told him where his shipper was and I blocked the state highway with my pickup while he backed up safely across it, so he could turn left and go back the same way he came and he made it to his customer unscathed.
Odd thing it wasn't a mega or a foreigner,
And he did screw up turning there, but he stopped and got out and looked for a way out.
And I was there.Last edited: Feb 14, 2017

What happened to "he called the cops" at the next exit?
-
That's what he did trying to get escorted back to where he was supposed to be. When he was getting back on the highway to take the truck to the impound the was a dot cop sitting on the ramp. So he would have been screwed anyway.

I didn't vote in the poll because neither choice applied to my situation.
My receiver was on a road that had a 10 ton weight limit sign. I checked the map, and drove around to the other end of the road, only to be met with another 10 ton weight limit sign. So I called the non-emergency number for the town's police department. When I asked them how exactly I was supposed to get to the shipper, the person on the phone just chuckled and told me to ignore the signs.
Done deal. -
It can happen to a driver with 30 years experience. The big difference is some drivers will do the smart thing and stop, assess the situation, and come up with a solution.Chewy352, Boattlebot, tucker and 1 other person Thank this.

I stuck on this detour and it was snowing like crazy I came to the turn and the car infront of me stopped and I had to stop but the small incline i was on was iced up. After about 20 mins of me fighting to chain up just to get out of the problem i see the blue and red flashing and i was thinking O man. This cute little cop walks up and says well that sucks and i agreed. she grabbed her radio and called her hubby who drove the city plow. He came over and dumped a bunch of sand under my wheels and got me rolling. That was awesome.
SingingWolf, Chewy352, Boattlebot and 4 others Thank this. -

I changed the voice on mine to some British girl...
I'm always arguing with mine. Honestly don't know why I use it sometimes. It helps when I'm in agreement with it to remember to turn and i like the constintly updating miles and etaLepton1 and Toomanybikes Thank this.
