Guy must've only worked it part time. Those hours average it out to about 6.5 hours a day, Mon-Fri.

I know of company that used to require driver to grease bed pins and trunnion bushings daily and driver had to supply the grease gun. That would a lawsuit with a federal case nowadays.

To be honest, I don't think a drum of grease would have helped that R600 pulling a 28 ft dump trailer. It shook so bad, it would pop out of gear. A bump would get the axles a hoppin', and unless you slowed down ( couldn't speed up) it would shake for miles. The boss always told me, most complaints were, the truck always seemed to ride worse on Monday, than Friday.

A 65,000 axel can be changed from a grease seal to an Oil seal..Then put a small pipe with a cap on top an fill with oil..Makes it last a lot longer..
