I had the Drivecam for 4 or 5 months this year, it sucked so bad, before that on the Prostar and the quallcom, maybe one hard brake a year.
I'm in a Cascadia now, so much for safer, the mirrors suck so much, they're too low and small and the convex mirrors are way too small and low.
But the 2 quarts in fuel savings over the life of the truck must make up for it.

It's not about safety at all my friend.... Its about how much money they can stuff in their pockets
I can honestly say I'm ashamed of what our country has become
No morality, no honor, no values, health care is a privilege, Joe and Charlie can call their unnatural relationship marriage?
.... The devil would be proud this I'm sure
Let me know when you guys have had enough and are ready to stand up for yourselves and oh yeah I'll be sure not to have any truckers in my fox hole on the battlefield when all this comes to a head and the NWO comes to deal with us so called feisty Americans

I have almost 20 years of accident free driving and I just bowed out of a company when I went to orientation and found out they had in-cab camera . Just like so many issues in this good old USA we need to unite and take a stand.

Unfortunately a majority of drivers can't bow out because there's something called RESPONSIBILITY(bills to pay, keep a roof over one's head or their dependents, keeping clothes on their backs, food on the table,etc.).

Are you gonna help others who take a stand with their responsibilities?
(hears crickets chirping and an owl hooting in the background)

    Didn't think so.

If the company you work for is going to install cab cameras ( outside cameras is another matter) and you have 50 trucks and 50 drivers refuse to drive what do you think will happen? Their is enough work out there with companies that aren't doing this so unless you are a total flop you should still be able to get a job.

Sorry, if you put yourself in a position for a job to dictate how you live thats not my problem.

I don't give handouts and I take full responsibility for the family and I. I refuse to let ANY job dictate how I live. I live within my means and have a backup plan always.

I never take a handout and do whatever I need to provide for my family.

Companies love people like you..keep feeding you #### and you will ask for seconds just to keep that JOB

This coming from someone whose avatar is "livin in a box"...;)

You don't know anything about me to make that kind of assumption(and we all know what happens when people assume too much for their own good).
Like I previously mentioned, we're in a lawyer happy society and a lot of companies have been doing this for quite some time-it's nothing new. I could care less about the cameras,I'm too busy driving the truck from Point A to Point B to Point C (and getting there in ONE PIECE) to moan and groan about a camera watching me. Like someone else said if you're that worried about it ,get your own truck and don't put a camera in it. And with some of these trucking companies when you sign on the dotted line it means you have to abide by their rules, camera or not.

It seems placing driver-facing cameras in trucks is inviting a legal challenge. What possible purpose is served by watching a driver pick his nose, scratch him/herself,sing off key,eat a sandwich or any of the hundred other things a driver does during his/her time at the wheel? And who is going to be tasked with monitoring all this video? And at what expense?I have my questions.
