I do understand the lawsuit argument but if you are a company and one of your drivers kills someone it won't matter. You can stand up in court and tell them about the cameras, the lane sensors, the on guard and you will still pay millions. It won't matter.
Now some say it's to identify bad drivers and get them off the road. Okay, fair enough but that still cost you money. I will simply not accept a job that has driver facing cameras. Thousands of other drivers are like me so the decision to install cameras has a capacity expense too. At some point that ends up costing you money. So by installing cameras you just insured that more qualified drivers will not go to your company therefore you get more bad ones. Doesn't make any sense. -

Drivers who bend over and flip their skirts up for these creeps, deserve everything they have coming to them
Drivers like this are the very reason why this industry is so degraded and diminished
.... Sorry but most of us don't live or think like this, not today or not tomorrow
And guess what? ...
This guy is probably not even a driver at all... " Imagine that "
How do I know this? Ask your self how many cdl drivers look for a driving job for almost a year before they finally find a job
Just to be a sport about this let's say he is a very bad driver that racked up too many CSA points and now needs to beg for anything driving job he can get
.... Would that be fair?Last edited: Dec 19, 2015

I take care of #1, not some job , not the government
I believe in treating people fair and speak out when I need to if a situation warrants.
Just because everyone else does it doesn't make it right.
I'm " that " guy..." Just because " isn't a good excuse for me.
The choices I make I am willing to suffer the consequences, Do you really think any JOB cares about YOU ?snowlauncher and superflow Thank this. -
I had to wait almost a year(11 months to be exact-no choice) because I had a LACK OF EXPERIENCE in driving(most companies, both OTR and local won't look at you unless you had a least 1 year of experience MINIMUM) plus I had 1 speeding ticket on my record at the time (when I received the speeding ticket I didn't have my CDL rating yet,so to answer that question,YES THEY DO LOOK AT YOUR DRIVING RECORD,WHETHER YOU"VE DRIVEN A CMV OR NOT). Most of these companies are so worried about their CSA rating(and insurance to go with it) that they don't want to take a chance to give a new CDL driver a shot. And these are the same companies that are advertising that they're hiring graduates out of the driving schools.
I looked at Werner,Swift,USA Truck,C.R. England,CRST,Heartland Express,Stevens Transport,Trans Am,Western Express,J.B. Hunt,Melton,Fastenal,Schneider,Regency-the list just goes on and on. ALL OF THEM DENIED MY APPLICATION and when the 11 months passed Western Express was the only one that called me back(lately JB Hunt has been blowing up my voicemail like there's no tomorrow).
1 year later I'm still with Western Express(and with no tickets or violations and a clean Level 2 inspection under my belt)I can afford to look elsewhere(I've heard pretty good things about Marten Transport from my former trainer,I think I'll give them a look). I don't gripe about cameras because I've worked in other industries where they're expected(6 years at an airport,5 years at auto dealerships,3 years at fast food joints)so to me working under a camera is a CAKEWALK. If anything I might have fun with the cameras.Last edited: Dec 19, 2015
