Cameras at work zones

So tell use you speed through construction zones without saying you speed through construction zones. I love when its the person who is actually complying with the speed restrictions that is your problem.

 

Your not my problem, your everyone else’s problem. I get paid to be out here and will drive threw with a smile on my face weather your trying to do 50 and dropping to 30 on every hill, bunching up traffic or hitting the hill just a little bit over and holding 48 to 50 going up and not bunching traffic or If your riding your brake to hold a perfect 50 going down and constantly overbraking down to 42 and bunching traffic or if your hitting the brake hard at the speed cameras when your already within 1 of the limit and slowing it yet again. Yep it doesn’t bother me as much as my letting it roll smoothly seems to bother you so when I get the chance I will continue to roll smoothly threw and watch you create bumper to bumper behind me and when I am stuck behind I will sit back, relax and watch the crazies or dr jeckyl and mr hide transformations of the drivers around us.

 

So tell use you speed through construction zones without saying you speed through construction zones.

 

Your telling me you would rather create more of a hazard by causing congestion than to overstep for a short distance in order to keep the crazies at bay which clearly adds to the danger those construction workers face.
Let’s say this this way I don’t know what it takes to set those cameras off because I haven’t tripped one and I don’t hit the brakes as I approach them, when I come around a turn and get met with a cop pointing the radar at me it’s always accompanied by a disappointed look on his face but traffic is still rolling smooth and steady.

 

In construction zones and school zones I do 4-5 mph under the speed limit.
I know it upsets the steering wheel holders but oh well.

 

So tell use you speed through construction zones without saying you speed through construction zones.,, you can try and rationalize it however you wish.. doesn't change anything.

 

And you can try and rationalize hindering traffic flow to the extreme and creating the backlog knowing full well your creating more harm than good by not letting things move along.

 

Going at the posted speed limit in a construction zone is not hindering traffic.

If everyone would just calm down a bit and go the posted speed there would be no backlog or tailgating or competition for position.

 

So does this selective professionalism of yours extend to like steep grades up and or down? You better not be holding up the ever important four wheeler traffic while going up Donner or the Grapevine.. perhaps some of the politicians are correct suggesting trucks be banned from the roads during normal business hours.

 

You know I watch each and everyone of you fluctuate from the posted speed everyday all day long. You go over, then under by 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 mph and more with each uphill and downhill you encounter but if your between some construction walls with nothing around, no workers, nothing in front of you you try to hold the limit at a perfect posted speed that is most times just a hair below what would enable you to keep it rolling smooth.

You seem to think I am talking about doing 70 in a 50 work zone or something like that. Which by the way I would never suggest but trying to hold your truck to a perfect 50 in a fifty zone and saying not one over is next to insanity when all things are considered. The area I was using for this example for instance I can run threw loaded never go over 55 fo any real distance, never drop less than 48 and average 50/sometimes 51 depending on traffic. Just not loosing that much at the hills by letting it roll just before and in some key spots to fool the 4 wheelers gives them the feel of getting someplace rather than being tied up It keeps most trucks from running up on my but and the cars that do still pass almost always seem to be able to do it with reasonable distances. Yes there are crazies that won’t be happy unless they are doing 70 but even at that they aren’t cutting an inch off everyone’s bumper.

I watch you guys trying to hold the perfect 50 and the average is more like 41/42 at best your on and off the brake constantly, speed way up, way down nothing smooth or predictable about when or where you will do what. Traffic becomes congested, drivers get tense, your big swings even seem to scare drivers in the lane beside you and they start braking and being afraid to pass till they turn into the crazed person and slowly try to pass but the crazy behind already got there, weather they are in a truck or a car they now want to get around scared crazy and squeeze threw then you jamb your brake on and cause the 25+ trucks behind you to do the same. Think about what I am describing and stop being so #### narrow minded! Been out here for 50 years watching this crap and can probably fool the average 4 wheeler into cruising at an average of 63 in a 70 zone just by keeping it rolling smoothly and not letting the highs and lows get too far out.

And no we aren’t talking about construction on steep long mountain passes, just what I think would best be described as rolling hills. If your out on the flats holding a steady speed isn’t very hard at all and steep long grades are a hole different animal of thier own but even there saying not one over is not being realistic.

By the way if your at 51 as you approach the speed camera there is no reason to shave off 8 or 9 mph you won’t get a ticket for it! That is also something I laugh at almost daily. What the hell are you braking for if your that close to the posted speed? Again unpredictable and causing everything behind to congest just a little more!
