Lol yeah, I forgot what those panels are called.

slap on a bunch of those plastic triangles too to reduce the drag from your dented and missing fenders.

I did drive a mixer across town one day with it’s hood literally shattered in half headlight dangling and all, engine sticking out. It was great, I got to feel how those guys feel every day. Lololol.

This has been a happening trend as of late: tractor is missing either the left side or the right side of the bumper, or missing the whole front bumper outright!

when the corner gets caught and bent forward at 90 degrees while you’re backing up you don’t replace it. You just cut it off!

At least his posts are believable. Unlike some other poster that starts with the letter X follower by a number....
And after you've been in the business for 30 years, you'll have a lot of stories to tell. Some by friends, most simply doing the job.
No, someone with starmac's experience is nice to have around here.

Most people either cut it off or replace it with a chrome front bumper or metal front bumper but unpainted!!
    (see Western Express for reference)

I can kind of see cutting the corners off when they bend on an old dump truck or something because who cares it’s a work truck.

Not on a highway truck though. You gotta have some pride in your ride.

I drive a dump truck and yeah it’s muddy half the time but my fuel tanks aren’t covered in diesel and my windows are clean and my Alcoa’s are lookin good hahah. You can drive a “work truck” without being a slob.

he just says stuff too that’s not even remotely true like it’s factual.

“be sure when you do foodservice you count every box because the missing ones come out of your check”

like wtf are you even talking about.

If only that was a accurate representation of 99.9% of them lol. Columbia or fld pretty much means multiple colors, numbers taped to side of truck, large cuts in the corners of the sleeper where the flatbed they were using to haul shingles cut into it when they jackknifed, at least three lights out including a headlight, more often then not hauling shingles or a container (I guess neither pays much?). Columbias aren't too bad to drive, I yard jockey in a old 7 speed Columbia a lot of the time...it's got cold ac and moves trailers..... good to go!

Well, I've worked at places like that so to me it's believable yes. Not in food service sure, but have you worked at every company that does food service? It may be uncommon, but I can see some companies trying it.

Lol yeah, they are super cheap you’ll have your pier rats etc with them.

even if you’re driving a sterling or Columbia at least try and take care of it.

yeah they aren’t that bad, I had one too. It had 600 horses so maybe that’s why I liked it lol, she moved and sounded like a jet at idle.

honestly if I was an owner op getting my first truck I’d look into a CLEAN Columbia with a series 60 in it.
