Can I call myself a Flat Bedder?

    This little trailer followed my home the other day. Can I call myself a flat bedder now even though I don't carry tarps?:biggrin_255:

    07' Utility with a Conestoga Rolltop. 48' spread, w/ air ride. Its got a dump on the back axle, although I haven't wired a switch in the tractor yet. Deck is composite with aluminum strips and wood nailers.

    First thing I gotta do is figure out how to get the decals removed from the previous owners. Suggestions?

    Previously I had been pulling a reefer, and couldn't take the inhuman treatment from the grocery warehouses anymore. That and the 12 hour wait to unload times lol.

    First load I grabbed (lumber out of Oregon) took me about 1.5 to load and less than an hour to unload start to finish. Most of the load time was my fault as I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to figure out the straps out lol. The roll top part kicks butt, I love it. I did learn to avoid trees at all costs on my first trip:biggrin_2554:​

    The trailer is sweet man but the 48' limits your hauling options...whats the light weight with the set up in the pic? And hell yea you are a flatbedder when you got the advantage of hauling dryvan and flatbed you got the upper hand. When you gotta secure the loads your flatbeddin the pic on my sig is a 2000 argosy with a 53'curtain bed high clearance 14' with low profile tires all the way around with aluminum wheels and air scales with drop and raise air ride suspension, heavy weight 29000 with 200 gallons of fuel we use to haul 51k loads or just empty cans to packers loaded to the back door with them...yea your flatbeddin and tarpers will hate you for it cuz you are the last one in to load and the first one out!!!!

    I forgot to mention 8' aluminum V boards, integrated racks for them, and the utility box complete with 22 tie down 14 chains 8 chain locks, snowchain racks on both sides all with welded locks on them....boy Im sure going to miss Sward....they will have their equipment for sale at Stockton Ca...at Delta...they went out of bussiness anybody that reads this can pm me for the direct number to Sward if interested in the equipment.

    That is kinda the type or rig I am looking at going to with my own authority first of the year PROVIDED that I am SURE that Obama will not get reelected. I also would go with a 53' trailer. About your "decal" question. I am pretty sure it is not decals but rather silk screen. If that is the case your best option would be to get black silk screen ink and go over that area. That is how I got rid of the lettering on the tarps that I have now. Hope that helps.

    You have went from pulling a hopper to a reefer and know this a lazy man's flatbed. :biggrin_2559: I think you need to get a Turbo Wing on the truck to make it look complete.
