Can I check my CSA 2010 points without paying?

They disabled the search though. You can check the company's if you know the DOT number, but cannot search by name.
I was looking forward to seeing how some company's were doing tonight. But I do not know their DOT numbers to do it.
Oh well, should be working soon.

On a side note. I did check my company's rating. Not as good as I would have thought.
The highest score was in fatigued driving, which is where everyone will probably be high. Since most of the points in that basic are due to stupid log violations. Not up to date, missing info, basic form and manner stuff.
Our score was a 39. That is the only score we have over 30, and if I remember right the only one we had over 20.

Thanx Jim....How will this affect DAC? I sent off for my DAC report about a month ago. They didn't send me a copy of my MVR like they did the year before. I called them and they said they didn't send MVR's anymore. Is that right?

 

All I got from DAC or Hireright was a copy of my employment history, alcohol test and a list of companies that I had applied for since graduating from a CDL mill. NO MVR......

 

I'm in the same boat you are....I'm still learning about PSP myself. If I were to take an educated guess, I think that PSP is another screening tool used to weed out bad drivers, hence the name pre-employment screening process. Of course, drivers with more than 2 or 3 bad entries on their driving records will have a harder time finding work. It's not impossible, though. Finding a trucking job is like finding a diamond: you will have to dig through alot of crap to find a good job that will hire you. For companies, it is the same concept; except they now have many tools to work with to weed out bad drivers (too many speeding tickets, accidents, dui's, felonies, etc.).

My other guess: since the economy has worsened over the past few years, many people who have never considered driving for a living are now getting their cdl licenses in great numbers; simply due to the fact that there are many trucking jobs to fill due to the high turn-over rate by many companies. People with cdl licenses want trucking jobs, and trucking companies want good drivers. Keep your record clean and you will be very attractive to truck companies and their insurance partners.

 

You have to go to your state's DMV that you obtained your license from. Only your state's DMV can give you an MVR. DAC and MVR are two different things. Your DAC will list the things that you've mentioned above, and your DMV will only list any tickets, moving violations, points, etc.

PSP is part of the new CSA 2010 program brought to you by your friendly FMCSA.



Its part of the driver evaluation process that also feeds data into the carrier screening process. Any violations of FMCSRs noted on a roadside inspection form are listed in your PSP, along with CSA 2010 points - that's not the same as your MVR points. There's also a crash history, and a history of driving violations (speeding, etc) that was gathered on those inspection reports. None of this is available to the public, and its not supposed to be available for any sort of court action; carriers can request the history as part of your pre-employment screening.

This history goes back three years. Anything that you got dinged for by a DOT cop is on there (tickets and warnings,) as well as all the previous carriers you worked for in that period. The guys from Marten interviewed on the Dave Nemo show said that everything on the PSP has to match your written application. Lots of points may not be as much of a problem as a pattern of violations. Like lots of speeding a few mph over the speed limit resulting in roadside inspections.

Its going to affect a lot of drivers.
