You are already in a simulator which is probably better than anything you can get off the shelf. I would not bother spending the money since you are already getting real life experience.
Can I deduct this as an expense on my taxes as a CDL Student?

I do not see the sim being any use at learning to shift. At best you will learn how to shift the sim. Then if the truck isn't shifting like the sim, you will have to unlearn the sim shifting.
I noticed in my CDL school the people with experience shifting in cars have more difficulty than the people with no experience shifting gears on anything.
EVERY newbie thinks learning to shift is going t be like upside down brain surgery. The technique for shifting a truck, and becuse the truck has so much torque, it can be easier than learning manual transmissions in a 4-wheeler.bananajohn, Another Canadian driver, CrappieJunkie and 3 others Thank this. -
I've used a professional grade simulator, it doesn't help you with trucking in the real world. It's just a way for some companies to write off some expenses, while potentially decreasing insurance deductibles due to their "extensive training".InTooDeep, bananajohn, Another Canadian driver and 3 others Thank this.

Snowrunner is definitely a step up from Mudrunner.Another Canadian driver and God prefers Diesels Thank this.

Okay, the reason I haven't bought it, is I read the mud physics were "arcadey" in Snowrunner. The best part is clawing your way through the mud loaded to hell. So as far as the mud is concerned, is it better/worse/equal?Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

I found it to be about the same. There's snow and ice in the Yukon and Alaska maps as well. Each region now has 3 or 4 seperate maps and jobs can take you across multiple maps. More than just logs, there's open deck now too.
Best part is every truck can be upgraded to some degree. Better tires, chains, lockers, lift kits, paint, lights, engines, front wheel drive etc. Love the 6900XD bed truck, just too bad you can't actually use it as a bed truck or use the gin poles.Attached Files:

I hope you’ve noticed that bigger standard deduction has been decreased every year since the so called tax cut..,another couple years it’ll be back where it started

I actually learned how to drive on my uncle's orange orchard in Ojai. He had a Model A tractor that had a brownie in it. The first day I was there, I couldn't shift. I asked my dad that evening and he told me to double clutch it. I've been doing that 40 some odd years later.tscottme and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

I had a similar experience with fuel trucks at the airport where I worked. I thought double-clutching swa easier than the technique in my girlfriend's Honda CVCC.Bean Jr. Thanks this.
