i only asked because we have two drivers that have K restrictions that do not have to have medical cards as they have K restrictions. as i have no desire to travel interstate, i didnt think it was really necessary to spend the money. im 37 years old and in fairly good shape, i have good eyesight i have nothing to worry about. it is more of an annoyance. i also have to renew my CDL this year (not sure what the cost is on that), so im looking at $400 in one year.

these things should be able to be claimed on our taxes!!!! with those things, the money grubbing government would not have been able to steal 10K+ from me this year.

Last physical i had was $60.

My last renewal was something like $110. That's for hazmat, motorcycle, doubles and tankers. I get to pay another $80 or whatever it'll be next year. Just to renew my fingerprints for my hazmat.

400 bucks? That's just slightly over a dollar a day for a year. You can spend more than that on candy bars.

Pay the money, get your medical card. If that job of yours blows up you might need it.

i'll admit its probably not bad to have. i will add that if my current employer sold the company for example..... there are at least 20 milk haulers in the area, i would take my pick. i have enough experience now. hauling milk keeps me around home AND its steady work. in order for me to consider going over the road, the entire dairy industry would have to collapse.

I"ve thought about hauling milk. But then I come back to the barn at the end of the day. And see all them trucks sitting around waiting to unload. And when I come back in the morning. They're still there.

typically i dont go to a plant. occasionally oatka in batavia, if i get there early enough usually i can get in and out pretty quick. my typical day, i load 2 trailers per day. 2 farms on the first trailer, 3 farms on the 2nd trailer...... usually both get dropped in the company yard. no plant, no waiting. i have a swell route, but i know allot of guys that have to sit and yes it can suck.
