Great post aftershock! Examiners flippin splitters...?! I'd bet that actually happened at one time or another, but not a fare characterization of examiners. I'd imagine that most would agree that 99 percent and change of examiners are highly trained and professional. How exactly would that happen in the first place? Like you said... If the student did notice that lame trick, why wouldn't they simply check it there and then. And if they didn't notice it when and if it happened, how could they be sure it really did? Regardless, the lesson should be to check your splitter before you shift. At least when you're taking your test. Unless there's points for that too!
