Give notice, leave on as good of terms as possible. Hopefully you've been a good employee and have developed relationships with managers you can leverage for future recommendations. That's the way to do it right, irregardless of the workplace.

Don't burn any bridges. You may want to work there again if trucking doesn't work out.
Why not call Swift instead of asking what Swift will say if you call them?
Why Swift? What have you learned about them that makes you think they're the right place for you to get into trucking?

My friend, dont burn bridges. Give your two weeks notice. Thank them for having you and part ways.Ken Worth, Chewy352, TankerP and 1 other person Thank this. -
People are looking for work. Give 2 weeks notice and tell them you can leave sooner if needed. More than likely they will ask you to finish the week out and go.
truckon Thanks this. -
Give them a 2 week notice as a courtesy but explain to them that if you get accepted early you may cut that short.Gives them a little time to find a replacement but gives you the flexibility of leaving before then if needed.
Always remember unless you hate everyone you're working with just not showing up puts them in a bind and they have to pick up the slack.Show some respect to get some respect. -

You should do even the most menial job to the best of your ability and remain on good terms when you leave, if possible. If you learn anything on these forums it's that courtesy is a rare commodity these days. Be one of the good ones. Give them notice and offer to go sooner if they are OK with it.
Lepton1 Thanks this.
