I don’t think I lied on my last physical. They asked me my height and weight instead of measuring me.
“My BMI is what? Sweeeeet”
can I lie on a dot physical?

If you have seizure you won’t be able to become a commercial driver as it is one of the “disqualifying” health issues. Also, don’t lie in your physical this things can often and most likely but you in the butt and as an any medical issue is not going away you have to continue to medicate and sooner or later is going to come out plus I believe it’s against the law. It WILL go on your DAC report FOR LIFE, meaning there is going to be very little chances you will get a good job or a commercial driving job AT ALL after this, plus you will probably get sued and the fines are not cheap at all.
-
Not a chance. I believe you need a doctors authorization to be allowed to even have a regular license on any seizure medication. You will have to do some homework to find out how to do it legally. Good luck.
-
Not exactly. I have Epilepsy and long ago retired. I use three medications for treating my seizures. Two of them twice a day and another PRN. Two of those three have multi-purposes other than just to control seizures. For example, I take Topiramate, this is also prescribed for migraine headaches. I also have to have Versed close by when I start to get the VERY dangerous Tonic-Clonic seizures. Versed is also used to sedate people before surgery. It's not really the medicine that disqualifies as much as why it's prescribed. My third Med is Keppra. To the best of my knowledge, there is no other label or off label medical use for Keppra other than an anti-seizure med.
YES, you have seizures you can't drive anything! I have a close friend that is a Virginia State Trooper, he told me if he even finds me doing a George Jones, I'm going to jail! -
Right moose, you have to be 6 months without a seizure and have doctors authorization, to get a normal drivers license. I don’t know the laws on a CDL as they pertain to seizures or the medication that treats them.
-
A CDL is really just an addon to a regular driver's license, by this I mean if you lose that basic operator's license for medical reasons that CDL is also history. The DOT is rather exact on what a driver can take and what is prohibited, they leave the grey area up to the medical examiners.
-
My DOT examiner refused to even do the physical just because I checked the box that I've had some anxiety in the past. The irony is I do driving for fun all the time and it relieves my anxiety. I have over 125,000 miles on my car with 0 accidents or tickets, and I do most of my driving in NYC, the hardest driving environment in the country, so anxiety doesn't impair me in anyway. No wonder there's a shortage of truckers, irrational OCD requirements. Don't lie on the physical as that can carry prison penalties/lawsuits/later disqualification, but O agree it is ridiculous. If they really cared about drivers not falling asleep they'd give them more time to sleep. Lexapro gives me 0 side effects. Don't complain about trucker shortages when the requirements are so irrational. 1 in 3 people have anxiety disorders.
-
Do the meds cause forgetfulness? You posted this same information in a different thread. Two should be enough.
-
No they don't. I have had 0 effects from taking it. But I forgot to mention here that I wasn't taking Lexapro at the point I went for the exam, so I had no medications listed. Sorry for the confusion, I just didn't understand the past anxiety being an instant disqualification.

You did like many cdl students do, you talked too much and talked yourself right out of a job.Opus Thanks this.
