The good thing is, the Depakote (sp) will probably pop on the piss test since they are doing more stringent testing with CSA 2010 and he will then have to explain - thus making him fail the medical and not get his card....
can I lie on a dot physical?

I hope that helps. Also, you do need to find out before you spend any money on a truck school.rookietrucker Thanks this. -

I'm sure DoT doesn't want you suddenly having a seizure while barrelling down the highway in an 80,000 lb rig. Also they probably don't want you barrelling down the highway when the little voices in your head tell you the car next to you wants to kill you.
-
As long as the meds DO NOT make you drowsy or unsafe, and the doctor has prescribed them, and the company you drive for knows about the meds and OK's them, you are fine. But the doc or someone like that has to be certain the use is safe, if you abuse them, or take them for a high feeling you will end up in prison after the accident you WILL have one day down the road. THIS INDUSTRY HAS ENOUGH PROBLEMS WITHOUT HAVING CHEECH AND CHONG INVOLVED IN IT. Clonopin makes people drowsy, I'm not saying it does to you but you are going to have a heck of a time proving it doesn't adversly affect you.

yeah sure you can lie, but its probably not the best decision!

Klonopin is also used for seizures. If you have seizures you cannot get a CDL. Depakote is used for bi-polar as well.
Those two drugs are not normally checked for on a random urine test, but if you get in fatality accident they will check for _everything_, including anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds.
Those wont disqualify you from driving, but you have to disclose them.Last edited: Jan 14, 2011
ac120 Thanks this. -
Depakote will not show up on the 7 drug test. Its not an opiate, nor a Benzodiazapine.
