can I lie on a dot physical?

Kidding? Me? Absolutely I am, but with some of these questions being asked I kinda wonder if I'm the only one kidding. I am trying to believe in the old addage that a question is always good to ask, but come on, some of these questions being asked borders on pure stupidity. Note, see original question above.

I Take depakote for cluster headaches and drive a fuel truck I have permission from my doctor and have no negative side effects. Almost ever prescription drug says may cause drowsiness be careful when operating machinery. I have no tickets and no accidents on my record.

Unfortunately, though, with our legal system, and the aggressive ambulance chasers we have... the fact that you're on a prescription your doctor says is ok may not relieve you from liability. All the jury needs to hear is that you were taking something that may cause drowsiness and you drove anyway.

Check out this guy's stand on things... you think he cares if your doctor said it was ok?

Having your eyes open may cause drowsiness.

I have a very mild case of narcolepsy and is well maintained with medication. I got a medical clearance from my doctor. The school I attended said I was qualified to get a CDL and I did. When I tried to drive for Prime, I was automatically disqualified and sent home. I presented then with the same medical clearance I showed my school. My question is... Which medical examiner is wrong?

When the words "should I" and "lie" come to mind, one should already know the answer to their question in one word, "no"!

But CDL schools have to use DOT certified medical examiners as well as trucking companies, which would mean they should both abide by the same regulations.

Do you still have your medical card?
If you still have your DOT medical card, just hire on with a company that will accept that card. You won't need to take another physical.
