you can spend a week or more with truck in shop it's not that uncommon especially with newer warranty trucks .. it's kinda like you get labeled beu burgdal for abandoning a truck . just stay in your motel room and chill or apply for jobs

Heck ya you can, send them a message saying cancel my pre plan I’m bringing the truck to the terminal. That’s what I did to one company. They even said call my driver manager when I want to come back.

I'm sure you can quit most anywhere. However I am positive the highway patrol would greatly appreciate it if you got off the road first.

quit walk away, STOP! first and think about the possible consequences you could be up for vehicle abandonment , while it's not your fault the truck keeps breaking down, the company has at least tried to fix it, obviously they probably should of hired another newer truck for you at least to get you to your destination, well that's what i'd do for you if you worked for me, anyway make sure you don't abandon the vehicle and allow them time to get a driver to resume the driving, if you do leave make sure you have something in writing, an email or text to prove you made the effort to inform them (in writing) of your desire to leave and that you haven't abandoned the vehicle.

This is another advantage of staying local I suppose. The shop is never more then 50 miles from wherever I happen to be, they are a phone call and maybe 45 minutes away at most.... I have had two breakdowns and neither particularly bad, but both made me grind to a halt. Once the air tube running from the precharger to the turbo blew off (clamp failed), the other time a had a cooling hose let go. I didn't sit very long either time.

If something catastrophic let go they would bring me another truck, this I know.

I'm never really stuck somewhere without company shop support.

You know where you should be posting this story OP?

At the lunch counter inside your nearest truck stop. Then go get a 6 pack and pound it down. Quit your #####ing. I got dispatched on a no win load not too long ago. Not the load I wanted, not the route I wanted to take and it was a flatbed load heading into Denver. So tarp it in Phoenix 115 degrees, drive it the backest ### way the company could find to run it to a place I didn’t want to go.

Best thing that ever happened to me was that truck breaking down on Vail pass. Not only did I not have to finish driving those miles, but I also got 150 bucks a day to sit in the hotel of my choice at the bar and drink 150 dollars worth of Colorado Native and flirt with business women and a bachelorette party full of drunk and loose women.

4 days I sat there. Spent my days binge watching house flipping shows and recovering. Worst #### thing that could have happened ultimately did happen... they called me and told me my truck was ready at Kenworth. Back to work to sweat it out.

Suck it up dude. Go get drunk, get laid.

It is like the Hotel California. You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave.
