I use my 1/2 Milwaukee to R&R wheels on my truck and battery usage isn't to bad really.
To the original question if you are worried about torque buy a torque wrench. Listen to what ppl here are telling you. They know more than you

My Milwaukee has advertised torque of 1000ft/lbs. It doesn't come close to that in reality

I would check it with a torque wrench to be safe

Use a torque stick on the impact, then final-tighten to spec with a calibrated torque wrench.

A lot of talk about torque here. No mention of, but just as important is to tighten in a criss-cross pattern and in increments.

I would use a proper torque wrench.

Its kinda funny when you compare a 1/2" to a 3/4" or 1" drive. I j ust picked up a new Aircat 1/2" impact. Almost 1,300 ft-lbs reverse and 900 ft-lbs forward. The shop has an older 3/4" gun with about 1,000 ft-lb in reverse. It will take stuff apart my Aircat won't. The bigger gun just hits harder than the smaller one.

I have no problem listening to what people are telling me lol I will be using a torque wrench but if you read my original question I was concerned about over torquing them while putting them on with the impact. Now I have been informed by dozens of people that there's no risk of that because I'll only get like half of advertised power apparently. So I can safely use the impact to put the nuts on and then check them with a torque wrench

You will get the feel of it. Just you the impact to get em tight, a few ughadugahs. Then switch to the torque wrench

Now I just have to find a torque wrench that goes to 500 cus all the ones I see max out at 250. And even those are expensive so I imagine the 500 ft/lb wrench will cost more than my impact

    OLDSKOOLERnWV and Rideandrepair Thank this.
