Yes, you can use loads boards without a trailer. Its called a "load-out" trailer. Companies need trailers moved and/or are sold. They typically pay you 200$ for moving the trailer from say chicago to atlanta. But you have anywhere from 7-14 business days to get it there. In those 7-14 days you can load the baby up multiple times. Once you are unloaded though, you will have to bobtail to pick up another load out trailer.

i have a bit of a power only question for you guys with access to load boards. i don't have any load board subscriptions right now as i don't operate off load boards, i may have a line on some power only loads from nd to odessa tx. but if i bobtail all the way back it the rate doesn't quite work for me. whats the availability of north bound power only loads out of tx and surrounding area currently?

lol yeah no illegal drug loads, if i knew that there was decent availability of northbound power only loads i might try getting a couple of these southbound power only loads. it pays enough you could bobtail all the way back but it wouldn't be great. a mediocre northbound power only load going 600 miles north would make the trip be pretty good money

I delivered a power only to Houston last week. The rate was very good. For grins and giggles I used Truckloads and 123Loadboard to see what power only loads were available within a 500 mile radius going anywhere.

I saw a grand total of three loads. Truckloads allows brokers the option to list the rate. Ready for this? $200 to run a power only from Dallas to Laredo.

You better get a rate on power only that covers bobtail all the way back.
