T’s were the Rolls Royce of Diesels back then. They were in a higher class bracket then Pete at the time.Dino soar, OLDSKOOLERnWV and Jubal Early Times Thank this.

The serial number on the front rh frame rail outside behind/between the steer axle and rear spring hanger. Or on the build tag inside cab screwed to passenger side kick plate will tell you the build number. Serials started at 0001. It will read 921N0001 thru 921N0200.
Mine is a ‘51 and serial is 921N0067. They built most of them in 51-53 time frame. So the later ones are even more rare.Hammer166, lilillill and Jubal Early Times Thank this. -
To clear up the cab question. Diamond T built their own cabs until the 900 series were introduced in 1950. Then they used International Harvester supplied R series cabs with their own T style dash and steering wheel.
Dino soar, Hammer166 and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -
Let us know how you go if you score it. Post up some pics as I think we would all like to see it up close.
I'll beg you though with my 10c, think "custodian of a classic" rather than custom cruiser. -
You beat me to it….Isafarmboy and SmallPackage Thank this. -
This one was bringing grain to the local elevator in Ford, KS. To me it looks loud, uncomfortable, and hot....but that's just me.
Jubal Early Times Thanks this. -
Thats a Diamond Reo with the bigger White “corporate cab” (aka= “Driver’s cab” designed by Autocar in 1950.) Diamond T used that cab from ‘58-‘66. Reo still had their own cab.
White merged Diamond T and REO together to form Diamond Reo in 1967.Dino soar and Jubal Early Times Thank this. -
Fair just never heard of the brand before today. Been looking them up and they are pretty rigs. Would love to find one and restore it to a show truck. Thats the kind of rig you dont chop up into a ratrod thats the kind you admire and take good care of. Nahh ratrods are what are made out of old petes and suchSmallPackage Thanks this.

My elementary school was on the road from the Thornton quarry to 394 (early 70's) and one of the rockhaulers had a fleet of red ones just like that. They were quite distinctive because almost everyone else was R models. Our lunch breaks were spent trying to get them to blow their horns if we happened to be near the road.Isafarmboy, Dino soar, SmallPackage and 2 others Thank this.
