I wouldn't pick any of them. But if you wanna get one bc they are free with your points, by all means. Remember you get what you pay for IMO. Not judging by the way.

8 GB SD cards. Won't store anything. Just FYI. And they say you can upgrade ad cards but some of them don't format correctly

Guys, I spent the better of last 2 hours researching dash cams. Most of them are essentially no-name products and one-man brands. They also seem to be all plagued by similar problems and very poor software. All indications are that their internals are all the same and they differ only in looks and wild claims. All seem to be essentially unreliable, they do not actually record 100% of the time, are full of bugs and go bad after a few months. A typical story with a lot of China products, sadly.

    Here's an article about it.

It is sad, in a way, but I will try to keep looking. I already went through two crappy ones, the latest POS being "Ausdom".

I also chose the Falcon Zero for warranty reasons as well but never had to use it. My cam is on from the time I leave home till I get back home. Zero problems from mine. Maybe just lucky but I'd buy another one.

You can buy a windshield mount for the GoPro cameras.

Hi, did you ever try to recover videos from your dash cam? Are recordings cover time contiguously?

I have a Garmin 10. It works pretty well but it does freeze up about 1x a week so I keep the screen on so I can tell when it is locked up. Long press the button to shut it off, power back on, format the card and it works for about another week. Watching the videos on the small screen is possible. My next one will also record the speed via GPS.

I have a uniden dc10. Had for about 6 months now. Expandable to a 32g micro SD card comes with 8. I have mine set 3min loops. Has emergencies files saves up to 10 without erasing. Comes with window mount. Bought Samsung 32g with cardreader download directly from card to laptop. I have about 20 videos I've saved of "interesting" drivers all recorded in 1080p. Has sound also. Bought it at best buy was approximately $140 I sprung for the geek squad warranty for an additional $30 figured I would probably break it within 3 years so well worth it to me

Actually I use the GoPro windshield mount on my cobra because the one it came with had the worst suction cup ever. It'd fall off all the time. I upgraded it to a 32gb memory card and it works fine but does fill up just about every day, especially if I'm going down a bumpy road. As far as the screen, this is what it looks like when I'm going down the road

And it has sound and gps tracking and an accelerometer inside it so it locks files if there's an event and doesn't record over them.

Meh. For $40 at Costco it's worth it.

Actually, $40 at Costco and $50 for membership is still cheaper than $150 in points. Use those for lunch or something for a couple weeks. Same money saved.
