As far as a camera, I can't help you, so far we're not having a lot if success with ours, but we're working on a possible theory, and based on it I would suggest making sure you get a good quality card to go with it. Sandisk makes an automotive grade card, the SDXC Pro 64, it's shockproof, waterproof, and possibly most important, able to withstand temperatures up to 185°F (our theory: sitting in our windshield all day long in the summertime may be killing our cards we have now, I think we're gonna try to talk our manager into the SDXCs). They also make a 128G card.

Back in post #35 the videos posted were pretty well done. One thing I learned from them is that the card does in fact make a big difference. The guy in the videos mentions it a couple times and has another video talking specifically about the cards and gives recommendations as to what to use for best results in a dash cam. He also has reviews of several cameras. Might be a good idea to check out his site before making a purchase.

Here is a link to his site: https://www.carcamcentral.com/

Yeah, I saw that. He says these are the best. I just bought the 64gb version on Amazon for $37.51 (including shipping). I have a 64gb SanDisk but he says people are having issues with them. My SanDisk says temperature proof but I'd rather spend $35-40 and be sure.

I use a GoPro Hero 4 Session. It's not an actual dash cam. It's much better though in my opinion.
It's compact, fits in the palm of your hand.
High quality video that can pretty much record a full day of driving and loop when necessary.
It's completely wireless, sou can easily move it around your truck or even to the back of your trailer to use as a backing-cam.
But as I said it's not an actual dashcam, so there's no GPS or speedometer features.

I could spend a few bucks and get the extra mount that would give the cam I bought GPS & speedometer features but I really don't want them. I don't know just me I guess.

Sounds like you have the A119?

I almost never speed and 90% of the time when I do it's by accident because I didn't realize the speed limit was so low.

That said, I'm looking for a unit that records/shows my speed since that will be just one more question answered on my side (in my favor) in the event of an event...

What I really want is a 3 camera unit, 1 on each side mirror facing backwards and the traditional 1 facing forward on the dash with GPS (speed) recording/display.

I ordered it last night, I'll be home the 1st to pick it up. I don't speed either unless it's on a down grade. I may pick that add-on later if I like the unit. It's only $15.

Keep us posted on how you like it. That's the 1 I'm considering. I have a Garmin 10 now. It seems OK * but no GPS/speed.

*It does freeze up from time to time. I have to shut it off and restart it to fix.
