Why would anyone be mad about a dedicated account? Is it less miles? Is it harder to get home (seems like it would be easier.)

I guess it's harder backing, and bloody annoying when they make you do a double drop and hook. I don't even understand why they do those. You'll show up and there will be three empty doors, but they want you to first pull out the trailer that's in the only occupied door, then back your full trailer into that one specific door.

Surely they would only demand that because they know your time is free. (Am so incredibly happy I'm not running dry van anymore.)

8-j it depends on the account, if its easier to get home or the pay. Some of the accounts are less mileage pay and stop pay but you make up the less on the more consistent miles and multiple stops. If they call him to "help out" then he is like a surge driver he gets the otr mileage pay and stop pay assuming the account pays $10 a stop if you are on the acoount fleet.

Trucking consists of more than just running one load for 3-4 days. Dedicated freight challenges the backing, city driving, and customer service skills! All of which are a part of being a professional driver.

I did less than 2k miles last week, but the paycheck is sweet.

I had 4 loads picking up new trailers from Wabash.
95 miles empty and loaded each way.
But since they were short runs there is a $25 bonus, as well as a much higher cpm rate.
My hours were such that it took 3.5 days to do those 4 loads - but it was easy money. It was as if I had run 2800 hard miles in terms of cash.
