what these people DONT get, they arent worth $600 per week. simple mathematics. they will get automated out of existence quickly. there might be the threat of automated trucks, that's a long long way off. probably decades if ever, its a pretty empty threat. automated kiosks for fast food are already here and easy to implement.
the other possibility that is very likely instead of getting 40 hours at $8, they will only get 20-25 hours at $15, and be expected to get a similar productivity output in the same time.
this country is broken, the mindset is wrong, liberalism sucks. no one wants to work hard to get further in society, they just want everything handed to them on silver platter and serviced with sterling silverware.
minimum wage jobs are starter jobs, if these jobs no longer exist where are these kids going to learn basic job skills like showing up on time and taking basic verbal and written instructions.
i still remember those fast food strikes..... what a joke..... snowflake, this is how this works. you have no skills, no union, and no bargaining powers. YOUR FIRED. the fact that anyone even gave them the time to day actually pisses me off. that crap should have never made the news or newspaper, dont like your wage QUIT..... go to school, learn a trade, learn a skill, drive a truck. dont like it, too ###### bad. that's the way the workforce works.
Can this be a great thing moving forward?

Wow, I don't know this was all about liberalism. All of you just assume that people want handouts.....there are bunches of hard working Americans, but what do you do when your overworked and everything goes up but your paycheck? I can't tell you how many threads I've seen here that talk about the low pay of trucking, that it's no better than working fast food. How many times have I seen "Paid what we're worth?" I don't get the elitism here.....it's not like they're saying "make us rich"...they just want to be able to cover rent, food, health insurance, car insurance, clothes, and all the aforementioned for the children if applicable.

if you were hardworking you would put EFFORT into life and not simply expect more money for the same job that requires NO SKILL. want more money? do something about it. i choose NOT to work in those places because i REFUSE to work for $300 per week. i know im worth way more then that.
those might be B.S. college kid wages, but its a B.S. college kid job. very simple.
liberalism is a disease, 40 years ago if someone wanted to make some outlandish demand on a wage for a job like that they would have been laughed at.
i strongly oppose $15 per hour for fast food workers. it has to be one of the dumbest most retarded things i have ever heard.Oxbow, Justrucking2 and johndeere4020 Thank this. -
i think i'll demand my boss pay me $100K per year. oh, wait im not worth $100K? if i cant demand $100k per year, they should not be able to demand $15.
Justrucking2 Thanks this. -
I totally agree ; if someone wants to get ahead and improve their standard of living, then hard work is the way ahead. We are immigrants and came here with two cases and about $400. Hard work pays off and luckily we have passed that ethic down to our kids. Nothin is free and nobody is entitled to anything except the air. It is up to ourselves to improve the lot, not up to others to improve our lot.

i make double someone working minimum wage $10.40 plus 10 hours of overtime gets. when minimum wage hits $825 for the same amount of hours that i work (making hours worked equal), i want $1650 per week to maintain my standard of living!!!!!!
if i make double minimum wage now, why should i take a pay cut so a bottomfeeder can get a pay raise.
this is more then just about wages, its about the buying power of money. how much is the money worth?bryan21384 Thanks this.
